Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Building a squad is all well and good but if you can't motivate them to actually go out and win something tangible (i.e. trophies) then it's not a success. This is why Pochettino is a flop. He's got a world class squad and is letting it go to waste because he has no winning attitude. It's like Spurs...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Can't disagree with that more. Silverware is the only reasonable measure of success in football. Without it a club are perennial failures, which is exactly what Spurs and Pochettino are at present.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I was also a little insulted by the BBC trying to frame today as some sort of clash between FA Cup titans. "20 FA Cups between them!" Lineker proclaimed. Yeah, and Spurs have only won 8 of those 20, none of them in the last two decades and have now lost 8 semi-finals in a row. It's ridicul...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have Pochettino now. Why he has such unwavering supports amongst Spurs fans is a mystery to me. Yes he's technically right when he says you need to win the Prem or the CL to be a big club, but when you're out of the running for both those trophies there is no excuse...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

As a United fan I didn't really feel pissed off about it at all. The title race was over months ago so the only thing left was to deny them a big climactic victory to clinch the trophy (and hope that's the only trophy they'll lift- cheers Liverpool!) We pissed on their parade at the Emptyhad, then a...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Yeah it's never nice winning the league one season then making a terrible attempt at retaining the title the next, but the situation's nowhere near as dire as it was for them in 2015-16 or for Leicester last year. It seems to be Chelsea's motto of "win one year implode the next". Have the...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

On the one hand Arsenal can probably look at AC Milan and think they're not doing so bad by comparison; haven't replaced the manager, aren't outside the European qualification spots in the league, their fans aren't abusing their teenage goalkeeper wunderkind to the point of tears etc. Arsenal's scor...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Wrestlers did it even better. Andre The Giant and Dusty Rhodes once stole two horse-drawn carriage taxis from Central Park and raced them across Manhattan.

So yeah, how about that quadruple City are aiming for?

Re: Forum Memories

I wonder if the girl who got pregnant one year at Bloodstock on a one night stand ever found the father Did she come on the forum looking for him? Yep, I don't remember much about the thread though. I for one miss the bowel movements thread, I had a once in a decade level shit earlier that needed t...

Re: What made you Lol Today?

My friend's "5 days holiday from work" drinks he posted on Facebook. 18 bottles of red wine, 10 bottles of tonic wine and 20 500ml bottles of beer. That's double the weekly recommended limit. Per day. The man is an absolute machine.
