Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread

First (mild) hangover since NYE today. Uffffff. My body can tolerate alcohol so much less as I go through my 30s, I only had 6 cans of beer  Oh, it gets even worse with time. I'm pushing 50 now and if I stick to beer only I'm generally OK. I can just sleep it off. Start mixing it with red wine...

Re: Strategy Board Games

Probably too geeky for you cool kids but I totally recommend solo board gaming whilst listening to music. I can't just sit listening to music without doing something else so playing a solo game at the same time is perfect for me. Currently playing the games Aerion and marvel champions. I'm a cool g...

Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread

A social drinker, a casual drinker, and an alcoholic walk into a bar. The bartender decides to do an experiment and puts a fly into each of their drinks. The social drinker walks up to the bartender, points at the fly, and asks for a new drink. The casual drinker quietly removes the fly and continu...

Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread

The last few minutes were spent thinking, "WTF, this whisky bottle is drunk-adult-proof...then then I got the box off the top that was holding my bonus whiskey glass. Okay, not that I've gone from cider to whisky and I've got my headphones on as I crank a mix CDR into my ear drums. Let's remem...

Re: Necessity of a Smart-Phone

My first few Smart phones were HTCs, which were a good introduction.

My last couple have been Huaweis, which are freakin awesome.

Re: Necessity of a Smart-Phone

I don't even own a mobile phone, I hate talking on the phone, the wife has a samsung galaxy thing and is always on it though. Considering what phones do these days, the talking time is a fairly minimal percentage of it's use. A mobile phone is basically a much better version of your laptop these da...

Chadwick Boseman

Now that's fucked up, young and an awesome actor. Hope the Black Panther series can still continue, he'd have wanted it to.

Re: Strategy Board Games

Horrified is definitely simpler than Pandemic, though it can depend which monsters you're playing (the mechanics to beat each are different). As for Pandemic player roles, I believe in the rules it states you're meant to pick them at random. Have you managed to beat it on the hardest difficulty set...

Re: Strategy Board Games

If you're into Co-op games, Pandemic is a brilliant strategy game. Genuinely challenging whilst still being fun. . Picked up Pandemic a few months ago, and we love it, great fun and gets very frantic towards the end. I've found the best way to play it is for people to get the task roles at random r...

Re: What's upset you?

Yeah it's getting to me too. Didn't hit me until this weekend. :( Meh was it that bad? The weather was nice at the weekend and you were spared from witnessing a horrific BOA line up, plus the virtual fest was fun. Yea I agree the line up isn't great but I still missed that weekend away from it all ...

Re: Strategy Board Games

My parents are obsessed with Catan, always play it with them when I go to visit. I got them the Seafarers expansion pack a while ago, which makes the games much better. They also recently got Ticket To Ride which I've played with them and the grandkids, and it seems great fun. My dad is currently ob...

Re: Coronavirus

Looks like all English football matches gonna be behind closed doors very soon.

I care not about that, Hellfest is my concern.
