Re: movies
The latest one relies a fair bit on the viewer having some sort of knowledge of the previous 21 MCU films. I would say all three Captain Americas and all three Avengers would be the bare minimum, but I'd include Iron Man 3 (and the first two if you have time), and probably Guardians of the Galaxy to...

Loved Endgame. Not a lot else one can say without spoilers, haha.

This is hilarious. It got me as 67% conservative... I'm fairly left wing.

Peston is reporting a rumour that 4 Tories will leave and join the new group today.

Re: The Book thread
Just read the first two books of SA Corey's "The expanse" series. So far so good. Before that it was Barbara Hambly's "Darwath" trilogy. I'm up to book 6 (Babylon's Ashes) - really enjoying the series. I like how it sort of starts off as almost a conspiracy-noir-in-space before ...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
'Meaningful Vote' day today. I suspect it fails narrowly (there have been reports of odd MPs switching to support it, though not a lot publically). After which, God knows what happens.

Re: The Voting Age
It's not clear how the whole system is supposed to work anyway. Do we vote for . . . 1. A party manifesto? 2. A person to make decisions for the constituents? 3. A person to act on the wishes of the constituents? You can check on your MP's voting behaviour here: https://www.theyworkforyou.com/ Tech...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?
The "longest Waitrose queue in history" was hardly burning cars, though. Either way, the doom-mongering predictions of riots won't happen - anyone who voted leave is expecting to have that result shafted by the politicians. The political class and their mates don't want Brexit to happen, ...

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Apparently the main focus of the NXT UK shows in Brum this weekend is the crowning of the first NXT UK Womens champion, so may not need too much of a prior knowledge. It's an 8 women tournament, so I am guessing quarter finals on night 1 and Semis and final on night 2.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Takeover was excellent, as has become the norm now. Not watched SummerSlam bar the main event yet. I actually thought the way they booked Reigns / Lesnar (the match) was pretty good. Keep it short and sweet, and use Braun to keep the crowd happy / distracted.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
A successful tournament on the whole. I think the majority of this squad sticks around, plus a few of the injured players (Ox, for example) will return plus there's the next wave of youngsters to blood in too. Semis / Final / Winning Euro 2020 is not a ridiculous goal.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
I don't think the team is 'poor' at all. Sure, it's has less virtuoso / individually brilliant players. However, I think there's more unity with team, and certainly less ego. They also seem relatively fearless. Sure, we rely on Kane a fair bit (probably too much), but you make do with the tools you ...
