Re: Next announcement

You and Gandalf are like peas in a pod. I've never seen you say anything good about a festival line-up, yet you still seem to go to a lot of festivals! I'm feeling the same way this year, which brings me no joy, I enjoy a Bloodstock weekend but there are only 6 or 7 bands I'm much of a fan of acros...

Re: Next announcement

It seems to me that she's not usually wrong on these things and I struggle to see the benefit of her teasing "it's about to be sold out" when Bloodstock is quite popular anyway. I don't know if it's sold out previous years but even if it hasn't, they obviously get enough revenue to keep th...

Re: Food.... The good and not so memorable....

My go to for festivals: - Bring decent cup noodles. No pot noodles, that stuff is rank. Nissin is good as are Itsu. I bring four for the weekend - Tinned things you can heat are generally not good, but I bring at least two tinned spaghetti as they're less bog-inducing. They heat easy too. Sod the sa...

Re: Next announcement

As a marketing/promotional tool Facebook is infinitely better than this forum. Several thousand see it, share it, discuss it...whereas here, even in its pomp, there'd have probably only been a couple hundred people reading posts. It's a shame, as forums work so much better than Facebook groups for ...

Re: Next announcement

I think whomever said it previously was right: I think they blew beaucoup bucks on Priest and had to tone down the budget for the rest. Not that there's an issue in that, but a lot of this year may well be a "discover new bands" year. Which is fine, but when it's a lot of discovery it's a ...

Re: Next announcement

I'm generally OK with the lineup. I think last year was better, but I have bands to see every day! So I'm happy out. I would like the next announcement to maybe have a good hardcore band in there. Previous years have had the likes of Pro Pain and Biohazard. I'd wager Sick of it all would be a great ...

Re: 2018 Clashfinder

For me it's the opposite. I was looking at the line-up posters and thinking that there was a lot of "meh" going on this year. Then looked at the clashfinder and thought, "Actually this is working out really nicely!"

Re: Sophie stage post-band entertainment feedback

My own 2 cents. I shamefully enjoyed the silent disco in the VIP bar more than I thought. The 90s nostalgia tunes were a very welcome break from the metal onslaught of the day. And no, I'm not ashamed to dad-dance to a bit of Ragga Tip or Ebeneezer Goode. The fire ladies in the SOPHIE tent were awes...

Re: Ensiferum

Another vote from me, but I think they'd go down a lot better in Sophie than main stage. I have fond fond memories of seeing them in Islington a while back. Make it happen!

Re: Metal 2 the Masses 2018

I'm intent on getting to some other M2TM events this year. My local one is Hitchin (and I'm competing in it too) but I'd like to go explore somewheres else. It's always a great evening at the Hitchin shows too :)

Re: Request - New entrance to the camping sites

From what I can make out, I think it's done to preserve the idea of the quiet camp. If the quiet camp is the first one you turn up at, chances are this is where most people will stop off and suddenly the quiet camp isn't so quiet any more. The notion of the quiet camp requiring an effort to actually...
