Re: movies
Shaun the Sheep - haven't laughed at a film so much in ages. Joyous.

I wouldn't call any of those 'major' characters.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
The problem with GoT is that it's stopped being about the story of Westeros, and has become a "how can we shock the audience this week?" program. I predict the next season will be 90% gruesome deaths and rapes. It's worth noting that the TV series has just about caught up with ...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
What an arse of a New Year fixture we've been dealt. Away to Carlisle! An 800 mile round trip!! The poor bastards have been given us away on a Tuesday night...can't see them even bringing a coach load down! I thought they had stopped all that nonsense. Worst one I remember was an away tr...

Re: TV: Current and Recent
I watched one episode of Sense8, really wanted to like it because a) I'm a huge fan of JMS and b) to prove the Wachowskis haven't completely lost it after the shitfest of Jupiter Ascending. That episode was so stultifyingly boring that not even a naked lesbian Freema Agyeman could save it and I have...

Re: The rather morbid celebrity RIP Thread.
Christopher Lee, a true legend. RIP. I tend not to feel too sad about people of 93 dying, he lead an incredibly full, long and rich life, prefer to celebrate a life than mourn a passing in these instances. Ron Moody does seem to have been swept under the carpet a little dying so close to Christopher...

Re: TV: Current and Recent
BSG went badly downhill mid season 3. That season started off brilliant for 6-8 episodes than nose dived spectacularly until the last few. I liked season 4 personally, it was definitely a marmite year but the last batch of episodes were great imo. Although the very end was a bit...obvious. Game of T...

Re: movies
I saw the Fifth Element at the cinema after spending the afternoon in the pub. Dozed in and out of sleep during it half pissed. All I remember about it is some crazy haired shouty dude and that I was confused to fuck every time I woke up.

Game of Thrones was brilliant this week, back to its absolute best. Shaping up nicely for the last few episodes.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
If loads of people say it vastly improves over the next few weeks, I might think about giving it another go. I'm not holding my breath though. Staying on the superhero theme, I just watched Episode 9 of Daredevil. After a slow start, that's a show which has really improved. I thought that hit the g...

Re: TV: Current and Recent
Seriously? It was ghastly!  Amateurish, REALLY badly acted, awful effects, and a completely-unnecessary-in-superhero-shows-these-days female empowerment message rammed home with all the subtlety of a breeze block to the danglies. The whole thing just looked like it was desperate to launc...

Re: TV: Current and Recent
The pilot for Supergirl has to be the worst 45 minutes of TV I've suffered this year. And I watched The Following. Why do shows this bad keep getting made? I rather enjoyed it! The lead is very likeable and it has the same light hearted vibe that's made Flash such a success. It had the usual first ...

Re: movies
Never did see Lucy. Noah was the worst film I saw this year, absolute shite. The worst I've seen this is Jupiter Ascending.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
Flash is fun. It's very light hearted, fluffy television although it does inject a few mysteries and twists as the season progresses. As with any superhero there are villains that discover ways to circumnavigate his powers but, as also with any superhero, the good guy inevitably wins. A part of it's...
