Re: What has made you happy today

Decent day. Helped a friend buy a car, they treated me to a bloody good lunch - probably to the point where I won't need to eat tonight!

The worst bit? They'll probably get away with it, too.

Re: What has made you happy today

Washed, polished and waxed the car. Darkened all the plastics on the outside, hoovered and dusted the inside, and cleaned all the crap off the inside of the windows. It looks and smells great, despite how shit the paintwork is. I know it won't last, but that was a couple of hours working in the sun ...

Re: A free-for-all thread

Looks like I got out of my old job at the right time - just been told they're planning a massive round of redundancies along with mothballing two of the manufacturing lines.

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Is this a grumble? I'm not sure. But today I went to our hazardous waste contractors for a site visit. They've got a contract with HMRC to destroy confiscated booze. Watching an entire pallet of Tyskie get shredded was... painful.

Re: What has made you happy today

Spent the weekend in Glasgow watching the filming of the new Robot Wars. From what I've seen it's looking really, really good. Going to be well worth a watch later in the year.

Re: A free-for-all thread

Just need to do a head clear rant, not looking for feedback or anything. I've never been good at making friends. I've always tried to be a decent person, but it's only in the last five years or so that I've had what I would call a social circle - and it's mostly down to you lovely lot. Unfortunately...

Re: What has made you happy today

I saw that earlier, any word on Craig Charles or Phillipa Forrester being involved? Won't be the same without them. Craig put a twitter post up that he hasn't been approached, but would be up for it. No word that I know of on Phillipa Forrester. As for JP, listen to this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/progr...

Re: A driving thread

General driving thoughts. Now I'm a regular commuter, I'm becoming rather good at economical driving. It's a constant game to keep the average MPG above 38. Serves me right for getting the unnecessarily big engine I guess.
