Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

A description of the Labour party I just read: "a disgusting mixture of hard-Left creeps and robotic Blairite leftovers". Agree? :)

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

I don't know why these rebel MPs don't just join the Lib Dems who are pretty much a centre party (by today's very capitalist standard).

His main point is that both Lab and the Cons are coalitions of more than one group each, so voting for either party is not a real choice.

She didn't sound like a Geordie, but it looks like she'd lived near Manchester for about half her life.

Weather presenter Dianne Oxberry at only 51. Probably only those of you in the Northwest will know her. She looked so strong, a classic Lancashire lass. And she looked like she could be Nicko McBrain's sister.

She talks candidly about working with Tony Hancock and the tremendous pressure placed on the 'stars' of comedy shows, which she modestly claims never affected her, as she wasn't the star. She recalls how she handled Hancock's self-doubt and questioning of life which would present its...

Re: A free-for-all thread

Have you ever bought something on-line which wasn't quite as advertised and, when you request an exchange or refund, they tell you to send a photo of it? Is it necessary to do that? It never used to happen. Do they think the customer is imagining things or is it a tactic to make you not bother?

I just found some more info. relating to this: https://www.inc.com/laura-montini/when-does-intelligence-really-peak-probably-later-than-you-think.html . . . Vocabulary skills were used as a measure of crystallized intelligence, or the ability to use acquired skills, knowledge, and experience. Anothe...
