Re: What has made you happy today

Remember the first time you had sex (well, good sex) - it has nothing on the feeling of using/owning a Dyson for the first time. Hnnngh. Life is glorious.

Re: What's upset you?

Just found out today that a girl I was in the process of getting admitted the evening prior to going on annual leave died on our ward shortly after, having ligatured on her bed 5 minutes before her next scheduled check - probably expecting to be found. It's especially sad as she was only very young ...

Re: What made you Lol Today?

Another one of those shifts which fall somewhere between the worst and most hilarious days of my life. 14 hours of sheer, non-stop chaos. All I remember is spending quite a lot of it running away from someone trying to punch me and screaming that I'm a "fucking black cunt" (who some random...

Re: What's freaking you out?

That is definitely my favourite time of year. Summer is always a massive disappointment, but those few weeks April-May where everyone's all like "wtf, it's sunny!" are the best.

Re: What's freaking you out?

I'm on a night where the other nurse is my old uni lecturer doing a 'bank' shift - putting me in charge by default. Bossing him around is going to be excruciating. :sniff:

Re: What's upset you?

Fucking hell, how awful. :( Working with women, we are so used to girls threatening suicide and making attempts but to actually do it, and at such a young age, is heartbreaking. Poor, poor girl.

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Got roped into some drama based on some nasty throwaway comments I made in a bad mood ages ago. I briefly pondered standing by them and just being one of those "I tell it like it is" bitches but I can't be a badass I feel terrible.

Re: Trivial Grumblings

There are some small, local(ish) gigs I want to go to but know they'll just be massive group ego wanking sessions. Very off-putting. Haven't been to a gig in ages and I don't think it's a coincidence.

Re: The Relationships Thread

I am almost certainly the crazy ex. But seeing some of the people they've resorted to after, I'll take a bit of mental instability any day. :shy:

Re: A free-for-all thread

Just need to do a head clear rant, not looking for feedback or anything. I've never been good at making friends. I've always tried to be a decent person, but it's only in the last five years or so that I've had what I would call a social circle - and it's mostly down to you lovely lot. Unfortunatel...

Wow, shit, so sorry to hear that. No hope for the rest of us then.

I really really like one of my colleagues. Female colleagues. This is new.

Re: What made you Lol Today?

I know Dennis likes to think Wrexham are a good team but many of their supporters (which include my own family members) really are scum of the earth. A childhood friend died and a bunch of Wrexham fans turned up at a Chester match with banners mocking him. His family were in bits. Vile. http://www.m...

Re: What made you Lol Today?

Things that happened during my 13 hour shift as the second (of two new) qualified nurses and shift co-ordinator yesterday, with none of us managing violence/restraint trained: *EVERYONE was on drugs. The amount and the potency of the stuff we had to confiscate meant the clinic room I was very profes...

Re: What has made you happy today

First payday as a nurse yesterday. :) After living in poverty for so long, I feel rich beyond my wildest dreams. First spend was an enormous flower delivery for Mumsy who's been lending me the kind of money I'll probably never be able to pay back. Now to go out and get wasted - I've bloody earned it.

Re: What made you Lol Today?

We got loads of Diwali chocolates from a patient's family, aw yeah. There's a Sikh temple down the road from me and it's like something out of Vegas. Seems like a pretty cool religion. WMMLT: Got my arse slapped by one of the patients today. I thought I'd escaped this shit on a women's ward. But the...
