Re: Next Announcement

I don't think Fate are big enough to headline, going by this year's headlines unfortunately.

Am hoping for a separate London show tbh.

Re: BOA 2020?

Would want Mercyful Fate, but that won't happen and I'll end up going elsewhere to see them.

reusable cups is a great idea at the European fests and I'm glad they are doing the same.

Boring, boring episode. With 5 left I thought something more might start happening.

Re: Next Announcement

They're really not. Both Brainstorm and The Ocean could headline Sophie for sure, but the others are nowhere near too big. The argument was about the decline in quality of the bands on the Sophie stage apart from the headlines though, we're not just talking about bands that could headline, as the S...

Re: Next Announcement

Yeah, that's pretty big. So am I just totally out of the loop, or are they really not a Bloodstock (or just a proper metal, seeing as that's not what bloodstock band means anymore) kind of a band?

Re: Next Announcement

Other than having heard the name I know nothing about Architects, I couldn't name a song or album, or even tell you what subgenre they are. Are they post-metal, deathcore, djent, metalcore, hardcore, prog? I genuinely have no idea. They're so far off my radar I couldn't tell you whether they play 50...

Re: Next Announcement

Three of Amon Amarth, Devin Townsend, Behemoth, Helloween and Megadeth would be pretty good

Which means it won't be them.

Re: Themed stages

BOA just needs to book KNOWN bands on the sophie stage from the first band of the day to the last. They don't need to be huge, or even a name outside their respective subgenres, but ones people have actually heard of to give goers a REAL alternative to the mainstage. Regarding Hellfest's stoner/blac...

Re: Next Announcement

FWIW I'm ambivalent toward them, as in I would watch them if there, but don't like them enough to listen to them at home (too techy for me) but loads of my friends LOVE Fallujah, and I've known of them since they supported suffocation in 2013.

Re: Next Announcement

^ Which is exactly why I was saying before they should have known bands (at least within and to fans of their respective genre) throughout the whole day, rather than just treating it as headliner -> sub-headliner -> new blood part.2

^nailed it. Not really bothered PWD are announced for brutal assault because I know there will be at least two other bands playing the same time.

Were they that horrendous cheese laden band that supported Nightwish? Sounded like a boyband with guitars.

Re: Next Announcement

While I wouldn't mind Alien Weaponry at all, in fact I'd welcome them but they only played last year (well down on the Sophie stage) so seeing them this year would be a surprise. If they did I could imagine the complaints of it being too soon - and given they're Kiwis are they even going to be in t...
