Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
That "second string" cost literally a quarter of a billion in transfer fees. And no that's not including the £200 million odd value of the substitutes!

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Koeman it seems, Billic can't be far behind though. The Liverpool defense problem is made worse by the fact that being leaky at the back is exactly why Rodgers failed, so it's not even a problem of Klopp's own making. The rot was well set in when he arrived and he's had 2 years to sort it out but do...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Fair enough. the point about the Andorran team in the La Liga system stands though. Derry City is another example and I think there's a team from San Marino in Serie C or Serie D as well.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
What does everyone reckon will happen with La Liga and the Spanish national team if Catalan independence comes to fruition? Technically UEFA have no problem with clubs playing in another association's league system (see Swansea and Cardiff City) and there's already an Andorran team in the lower divi...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
And the far left trying to claim it too. Which of course makes sense in the context of the Spanish Civil War (soon to be called The First Spanish Civil War??) but things are very different now. One of the main arguments for Catalan independence is the strength of their market economy in contrast to ...

Fun game- have a look at who on your Facebook newsfeed is showing outrage about the Catalan referendum crackdown and seen how many of them were opposed to Brexit and demanded the result be overturned/ignored.

They're alright. I quite like some Hardcore. But you've got to realise that Heavy Metal had been going strong for a good ten years before any Hardcore band were even thought of. At least five before any of the Punk bands even appeared. So for "metal is nothing without hardcore" to be true...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
What's with the current trend for football and other sport being shown on random TV channels that aren't normally sports channels or general broadcasters like the BBC or ITV? First Dave was showing stuff like boxing and MMA, then More4 was showing women's football and another channel that I can't r...

Goalkeeper that lets in more than 2 per game who cost £25 million. An unproven defender from Burnley that cost £25 million. A similar amount for a relatively unknown midfielder from Ajax. That's £75 million spent. Pickford had a goals conceded/game ratio of 1.72 last season (shoddy, but less than t...
