Re: The Relationships Thread

One of the few exes it ended on good terms with's now wife isn't happy about us staying friends but I get it. She sent me a few messages apologising and explaining that she's insecure and I totally respect that.

Re: What has made you happy today

'Ticehurst' apparently. (I should probably start looking at locations before applying for jobs really. Not that I'm fussy, I just WANT A JOB.)

Re: What has made you happy today

Got an interview for a CAMHS job. Priory too so better pay (sorry NHS).

Just happens to be about as far away as geographically possible in Sussex.

Re: What has made you happy today

Submitted my first staff nurse job application with 3 minutes to spare. Friday night relaxation can finally begin!

(Just kidding I will never relax. I am probably now stuck in hunched-over-laptop position for eternity.)

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Workmen still in my room. They are lovely (I bought them cakes), but after my first week of placement I really just need a bit of sleep and privacy.

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Ugh, our housemates want a 'pancake night' tomorrow - i.e. they make a shitload of noise and mess in our kitchen pretending to be domestic goddesses while we have a fairly boring time. With the workmen coming to insulate the walls and thus destroy my bedroom at 8am tomorrow, I think I'm just gonna t...

Re: A free-for-all thread

Again, I don't think counsellors are supposed to be giving advice anyway - as far as I'm aware they should provide an environment for you to work through things yourself. Obviously everyone has slightly different approaches though. Just a case of finding out what works for you, I guess. I think it's...

Re: What's freaking you out?

Oh God, I was coming in here to ramble about starting a new placement tomorrow, but fuck that. That's shit news. Hope it all goes well tomorrow - at least you're in the right hands now, I guess. (Seems lymphoma is easy for these guys to miss - old pal's brother had it and they dismissed it as anaemi...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Our Hermes deliverer is hilarious. Yells at us every time. We've become quite attached. Trivial grumbling: Made it over to Bradford in the snow all pumped up for my interview for it to be cancelled, despite several phonecalls on the way saying it was still on (although they were clearly trying to fi...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

As much as having your hair played with is nice, the expectation of making small talk takes away from the appeal quite significantly. Trivial grumbling: Our housemates have an annoying habit of hearing you sneak into the kitchen and charging in, putting their crap music on and taking up all the spac...

Working in mental health, where it's usually the only entertainment available, you become surprisingly good at pool. Even I had a brief phase of being unbeatable.

During my brief exploration of the online dating scene, POF seemed like a Tesco Value OKCupid.

Re: Trivial Grumblings

While the rest of us are working our arses off on some risk assessment stuff and for a pharmacology exam, both due on Thursday, a friend has been living it up and not even thinking about starting on either. She has instead spent all day banging on about how guilty she feels and how much pain she's i...

Re: What's upset you?

Just started getting a load of abuse from one of the guys we've always got along with in another flat (not the noisy 'musician' dickheads) in this house. I barely really know him but apparently he tried knocking on the door for painkillers and has decided I was in and heard but didn't answer(?). He ...
