Re: A free-for-all thread
I don't think it's been gotten rid of. It was certainly brought under control in certain regions. I know I still had to have a TB jab, but my brother and sister didn't because the local authority decided there'd been so few reported cases, that they didn't need to immunise any more. yeah...sound log...

Re: Three peaks in three weeks
Just a reminder that our first mountain will be this weekend.
We recently passed 50% of our target (not counting physical donations), so a big thanks to everyone who's donated so far. It's already more than I'd expected.

Re: movies
Blue Velevet was my first Lynch film. I've been curious about Lost Highway for a while now though. The problem is there are so many directors I want to sink my teeth into/look into further, Lang, Tarkovsky, Herzog, Kieślowski, Araki, Korine, Gondry, Murnau, Kubric, Wenders, Iñárritu, Godard, Truffau...

Saw Blue Velvet last night, in the last ever screening at The Cornerhouse in manchester (a least before it rebrands/reopens as 'Home').
Really good film, like I appreciated it so much. But I just didn't really love it.

Three peaks in three weeks
To cut a long story short my dad was diagnosed with Cancer back in January. Oesophageal, Liver and Lung. There's not a lot I can do to help on a practical level, so I decided to do the next best thing and raise money for The Christie where he'd receiving treatment. As he says though, he's not the on...

Re: A free-for-all thread
And to think they made a big deal of the hobbit being shot at 48FPS haha Which was quickly replaced by people making a big deal of how shit they are. Entirely justified. I'm sure higher frame rates have their place, but all it did in the Hobbits case was highlight how fake the movie was, CGI stood ...

I'm just going legendary hunting now. I almost feel they're too easy now. It takes away from the mystery. That said, I've not looked into the Regi's yet.

Re: movies
Saw Au Revoir Les Enfants at the cinema today. Heartbreaking, poignant, slow burning, coming of age masterpiece.
