Re: Next Announcement

Supposedly the government are saying that every adult in the UK will have their first jab by the end of July, which surely bodes well for Bloodstock if true. Doesn't necessarily mean much though, especially if travel corridors aren't open by then.

Re: So much for Iced Earth...

With any luck being inside will get him to sort his head out and he comes out not an arsehole. That's what I hope too. I kinda feel sorry for a lot of them. There's been a real new kind of crazy in the U.S. all lead astray by a leader that's not be held accountable for his actions thanks to 43 real...

Re: So...Marilyn Manson's evil image isn't just an act. (Allegedly)

It seems that he's an absolute scumbag to me - it goes beyond a bit of sex play, supposedly he would do things like rape her in her sleep. But I agree, its a troublesome trend to have record labels dropping artists at the first sign of trouble. Its a lot of back and forth, and you honestly wonder wh...

Re: 2021 albums

Steven Wilson - I knew this was going to be a different album for him and a lot 'poppier' and on first listen, that is the case. A couple of decent tracks, but most of the rest doesnt grab me yet. I'm not on of the fans that is calling him every name under the sun, but this one likely isnt for me. ...

Re: Next Announcement

Personally I think Bloodstock should start looking into the possibility of a reduced-capacity, one-day (or at least, no camping) event on the same grounds, with social distancing enforcement an option if needed. Probably only British bands, perhaps only one stage, and certainly limited traders or ot...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

Its possible we'll all have our first jabs by then, but I highly doubt we'll have two so it'll be around 50% immunity. Is that enough? Israel are leading the way globally with their vaccine rollout and early indications suggest the first Pfizer jab is only providing around 33% immunity. I think the...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

Nah, don't see it myself. The vaccine isn't going get to enough people in time to make a 4 days festival safe. I don't see it either but the priority isn't to keep everyone from getting ill. Once everyone above a certain age group has been vaccinated (say, 50+) then the government won't give a shit...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

I thought Glastonbury had long since said they weren't going to be doing one this year? I don't think them cancelling before they'd even announced anything, when they have every other year off anyway is much of a suprise. Not that I'm holding out hope for anything else. I imagine it'll be a creeping...

Re: So much for Iced Earth...

Since this all kicked off I've been rediscovering Iced Earth in a major way. This certainly won't put me off listening to the band's music - hell, if that kind of thing did, noone would ever listen to some black metal bands again. Considering they haven't toured over here in years, this is best thin...

Re: So much for Iced Earth...

People are afraid trump will become totalitarian. I don't think he will/can, and he has never actually broken the law. Though he woul probably brake the law if he could get away with it, he won't because, unlike the real facist despots, he will lose the vast majority of his supporters. Therfore, ca...

Re: So much for Iced Earth...

Just a few points: Keynesian economics Is facist -Trump does not go for that. Not at all. He’s protectionist free market all the way. Expansion through war is facist - Trump has started less international conflict than any president in my lifetime. Anti-democratic policies are facist - I think Trum...

Re: So much for Iced Earth...

What were the goals of the "protest" then, if not to overturn the results of the election, and thus install Trump as what would be an unelected leader? Yeah, he and the rest of them probably did do it for their idea of freedom, but that idea of freedom seems incredibly nebulous, and seems ...
