Re: movies

Crammed a few more MCU films at the weekend. Iron Man: Good 7/10 Iron Man 2: Not very good at all 5/10 Thor: Very good 7.5/10 Not sure why I liked Thor more than Iron Man. It's either the fantasy and Vikings geek in me or the fact I just find Robert Downey Jnr irritating. The ending of Thor was a bi...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

I agree that the quality of GoT dipped during s6 when they ran out of the source material and I also agree it feels rushed at times but I also think the new series has got progressively better. Ep1 was hugely disappointing for me. They could have added the 20 minutes of important character developme...

It's quite fun actually. It means we can fill in bits of understanding about the films we've already seen.

I think we're going to go back to the beginning from now on though and watch the first Iron Man and Thor this weekend.

Re: movies

We just watched Captain America: Winter Soldier. Good film.

Would have watched the first one but couldn't get the stream to play. Winter Soldier seemed to explain quite a bit about the events from the first film though anyway.

Re: movies

Not so much, all the MCU films are a continual story, but in terms of the Avengers films, only the 3rd and 4th are direct sequals. ie the first Avengers film follows directly from Thor 1, Cap America 1 and Iron Man 2, Age Of Ultron is pretty standalone, Infinity War follows on from Thor Ragnarok, B...

Re: movies

I watched the first two Avengers movies at the weekend with my son as he wants to see the new one. . Why the first 2? The third one is the one to watch if you want to see the new one. Because I assumed it was a continual 4 part story. We're going to watch the 3rd too but it made sense to start with...

Re: movies

I watched the first two Avengers movies at the weekend with my son as he wants to see the new one. I'm probably just an old man but I don't get it. I genuinely love the Dark Knight Trilogy and the Deadpool movies are a giggle but all the others I've seen are so formulaic. It also seems all the actor...

I'd like to think he was acknowledged for being a world cup winner as well but yes, people do still talk about THAT save.

A hero in many England footie fan's eyes.

Yeah same. I'm a bit of completist when it comes to games. I've already spent HOURS hunting for perfect skins.

Re: Computer Games Thread

Anyone played any good video games recently? It's been mainly Red Dead 2 for me recently (story mode) but I completed a grounded play-through of The Last of Us a few weeks ago in preparation for Part 2. It reminded me again just how much I love playing Naughty Dog games. I know the XBox versus PS de...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

True, these things seem to go either way though. Given how much they've invested to replace him and the stage he made the mistakes on, I can't see him going back to LFC. Shame really, harsh to see someone's ruined by one game. Wasn't he suffering with a concussion though? If he's frozen out, this o...

Re: movies

Agree that Deadpool 2 is ace. Just as good as the first one IMO.

It's odd about Solo. Reviews have generally been great and Rogue One was awesome but I've just had no urge to watch this one.

My missus and I do that all the time! We're definitely getting old as I remember my parents doing it when I was a kid and it annoying the hell out of me. :dibbley:
