Not surprised. I assume, if he's not too old or dead, John will give it another go with new people when he gets out.

Re: 2021 albums

You've clearly got a different understanding of the concept of fun to me  I buy CDs as I like to own something physical still, which is daft really I know but I'm too old to change my ways now. I'll never rely exclusively on Spotify as the quality isn't great. I've decided to write a little re...

Re: 2021 albums

I think the awkwardness of vinyl is one of the main attractions tbh, ie the old school cinematic experience, I've got Cradle's remastered Cruelty on double red vinyl, and it's constant flipping and swapping with only 3 songs on each side, but that's part of the fun eh? You've clearly got a differen...

10% of the population have had the vaccine today. Summer is looking good for the 80% needed. But will it be enough?

Re: So...Marilyn Manson's evil image isn't just an act. (Allegedly)

I always thought Manson was musically ok, and I will continue to like it, a bit, I guess. However, I’m Not sure where I stand on this. It seems to boil down to the social responsibility around young female adults, which is both complex issue, and currently in traction with regards to social percepti...

Re: Bands you saw before they made it big

One other band that might be perceived as making it big is Cauldron. Well, before they went on world tours, they were just a small Toronto band called Goathorn. I remember seeing the very first Cauldron show in a little bar, there were about 6 bands that night and they were on somewhere in the midd...

Re: Bands you saw before they made it big

I've seen a few support acts, which I've deliberate gone to watch over the headliners, who have gone on to be big deals - Watain and Amon Amarth springs to mind, I was a very early adopter of both. But there isn't many small headline shows I can think of where the band became massive latter on. Ghos...

Re: Next Announcement

Latest update I've seen: But as the summer progresses and vaccination levels rise, events will become more viable. “The vaccine’s rolling out at an incredibly good speed – we’re quite confident that we’re going ahead,” Greenfield says of Bloodstock, which is due to begin 11 August. “We can adapt so...

Looks like May is out for gigs. I assume Download is hanging by a thread, as are any gigs in early summer.
However, I have hope bloodstock could make it. Its all down to the vaccines now and how quickly they turn things around.

Re: So much for Iced Earth...

Its beyond naughty boy for sure. He is probably going to jail. The ITV documentary shows the odd nature of the terrorism/protest (delete as appropriate) at work that day. There where many politically extreme and outright deranged people there (includingthe lady who was shot, it seems). Most where no...

Most of the newer power metal bands are at lest a bit jokey, or tongue in cheek silliness least.
