Re: Forum Memories

It was a good, lively forum for over ten years. Might still have been if it hadn't been for that last 'update'. Or was it starting to fade anyway? It was maybe a little past its heyday, but it was still a well populated and viable place to interact with other festival goers. But the last update kil...

Re: Forum Memories

Andy Hall (still in action on every news page on Facebook) Ha ha. I don't get to see that any more. He blocked me a while back after completely failing to see that I was arguing for democracy, not supporting fascism. Ho hum... Still in touch with ex members like Black Lagoon, Littlemissmetal, Twadd...

Seen elsewhere: Coutinho is all set to be the first player since 1990 to play for Liverpool and also win a league title in the same season.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

To be fair, the demands of the modern game are considerably higher than they were back in the amateur days.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Yeah. I'm a traditionalist and think that second or third choice kits should only be worn when there is an actual clash of colours rather than at the whim of shirt manufacturers. I'd go further than that, and say that third kits shouldn't exist at all. You should have one home kit and one away kit....

Page 666 of this thread

On another note, I see that Everton have accumulated 4 points so far this season, while Wayne Rooney's drink driving has earned him 6 all on his own :-)

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

TBF, most people voting leave either did it in spite of migration, or because they blame migration for unrelated phenomena. So the media would have you believe. Even allowing for selection bias, that doesn't seem to reflect the reality that I see, though. Among the people I know that voted to leave...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

First Ian Wright, then Shearer, now some total non entity. Who the fuck is Jermaine Jenas anyway? Bit part player at two mid table teams. To be fair, he may not have been in the same class as Wright or Shearer, but he was more than a bit part player and his England caps aren't to be sniffed at. As ...

Surely that's a missed opportunity? They could have gone for £6.66!

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

Under STV, several adjacent consituancies (typically 5 in a city, 3 in the countryside) would join together to create one multi-member consituancy. No, no, no! STV is a voting system. Nothing more, nothing less. It can equally be used for single member constituencies or multiple member constituenci...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

YouGov have released the voting demographic stats, and it's fascinating. There are no official stats released for that (and rightly so). What YouGov are publishing is the results of a poll. Some polls are more accurate than others, but YouGov's certainly exhibit selection bias. I suspect it hints a...
