Re: Tankard

Simply embarrassing that these haven't played B.O.A before.Good but not great when i've seen them but i'd certainly like to see them again.

Re: A free-for-all thread

Part of the reason the forum is dying a bit is because we know that the organizers treat it with such disdain these days-it certainly effects the wishlist threads.
There is also the lack of a real shit-stirrer in the Andy Hall mould.Trolls (you know who you are) tend to get ignored so don't count.

Re: What pissed you off today

I think I had the same conversation with Mat Xentrix at Bloodstock. Heh. I wondered if he'd catch up with you at some point over the weekend. I pointed out who you were to him, but he was off to see a band at the time. Yep-i caught up with him-see the "Find Of The Festival" thread.I...

Re: BOA room 101

Tricky one-i don't really like these purely negative threads but i spose the three potential mainstage band names that would make me shrug my shoulders the most would be Devin Municipal Waste Lamb Of God To balance it-the three bands i would most like to see return would be King Diamond (my favourit...

Re: "Find of the Festival" / New, Exciting Discoveries

The "find" of the festival for me was....Gandalf The Red. I had made it a little bit of a mission for myself to meet this fellow who had trashed my beloved Xentrix at every opportunity on this very forum. A fellow forumer pointed him out to me on the last day and i wandered over (during La...

Re: Mainstage Sound

one band in particular had an atrocious sound mix: Dark Angel. Everything was turned up waaaaay to much, the bass was booming over everything, the guitars where muddy, the drums crashy and the vocals, well they where the only parts I could hear relatively clearly (although drenched in reverb). Was ...

Re: Rate the bands

Spent most time in the VIP bar but here's my ratings.. Friday Overkill 1/10 - Are this band serious? The singer was hilarious to watch -vocals sounded comically bad too  Sabaton 9/10 Wow - only got into them properly a few weeks before so was really looking forward to it and they delivered! De...

Re: Mainstage Sound

(Just to be clear, I wasn't involved in any way with this year's festival so this is all conjecture. I'm happy to be corrected/contradicted by anyone more in-the-know than me! :) ) I would say there's no single answer to this as there's umpteen factors that all fit together to make or break live so...

Mainstage Sound

A lot of people have said they thought the sound on mainstage was better this year than previously.I definitely don't agree.Potentially amazing sets by Nuclear Assault,Dark Angel,Death(D.T.A) and Ensiferum were ruined by a poor mix but other bands (Savage Messiah,Opeth for example) sounded great so ...

Re: Potential Clashfinder

The Dark Angel/Battalion clash is a killer for me :x Yep-that's the worst one for me too.We called it weeks ago, same with Ne Obliviscaris/Enslaved,you would have thought they might have moved some of the non-entities on the Sophie about a little to stop this happening? Oh i forgot-the organizers do...
