Re: Next Announcement

I think they know they are struggling this year, booking bands and then knocking them up higher than they should be. I hope they at least change tack to not book massive headliners, the lineups felt more balanced until three years ago. Are the headliners massive? Judas Preist yes, but Behemoth and ...

Re: Next Announcement

If you factor in the ticket for Brutal Assault costs far less and the drinks are far cheaper, then the whole festival expense even with flights generally costs me less than Bloodstock. Very off topic, but how is it so much cheaper? I've been looking to do a European festival for the first time (was...

Re: Next Announcement

You also missed a couple of things in your post Not only is Brutal Assault cheaper, it's just as friendly, in a super country and the beer is always much better kept than at Bloodstock. Oh and Gandalf is quite right with the number of small festivals popping up. There a so many good niche festivals...

Re: Next Announcement

Like Gandalf said, Bloodstock isn't special any more, and with people waiting to see the Knotfest lineup and Arctangent announcing a bunch of bands that are probably more appealing to the Bloodstock crowd than half this lineup, its probably not going to change any time soon. I tried to say this abo...

And with that I bought myself a nice fat ticket to Brutal Assault, fuck Bloodstock once again this year.

Ooh you're hard.

As first posts go, that was pretty random.

Re: Next Announcement

Gloryhammer played Heaven which is only a thousand yet Chris' other band Alestorm played larger venues yet got the same spot. Just don't see how Gloryhammer are on the same level. Alestorm could realistically have been special guests - if Paradise Lost, Saxon, Powerwolf, At The Gates and Kreator ca...

Re: worst band on the lineup ?

I like Gloryhammer because their music is very good, I don't come from Scotland and I find their lyrics concepts silly, but neither is of any consequence to me, as the music is so strong. Same with black metal, most BM bands have the BM image and I'm not bothered about the image (although I do find ...

Re: Next Announcement

Think the problem with Winterfylleth is that they play regularly and will probably take a prominent spot instead of someone fresher. My biggest problem with the line up is placements really. So many bands appear to have been pushed up for a reason other than budgetary that I can see. I don't like G...

Re: Next Announcement

So why are you bothering if you hate the line up so much then? When did I say I was bothering? I'm not bothering, I attended every Bloodstock up to 2017, but eventually my loyalty waned as the line ups got worse and worse, and after that I discovered the awesome Brutal Assault festival which is on ...

Re: Next Announcement

I like the headliners still, but that is, for me, the weakest undercard they have had. I don't even like the headliners, Devin I've never understood the appeal, Behemoth I like but they play everywhere so a headline performance by them hardly makes me buy a ticket, and Priest I like but nothing mor...

Re: worst band on the lineup ?

For the festival, Bury Tomorrow. Why were these booked, especially as a top 3 band? They are passed their glory days anyway, and were never that good, but top 3? With so many other similar bands who are these for? Definitely don't fit on a 20th anniversary bill. That band had glory days?! Chart wis...

Re: worst band on the lineup ?

- Diamond Head, if i wanted to see grandads on their death beds, I'd just go to the old folks home :o Yeah. A bit bizarre seeing as it's only Tatler that is anywhere near old and they are far from being the worst band on this line up. Even though the "new" singer is a bit ropey. Similar c...
