Re: Bloodstock Bingo 2019 edition - RESULTS

Was it 20 a previous year? I probably didn't bother reading the rules  May have been - I've done the last 4 and I think Noodle did the original - may have been that getting 2 or 3 headliners at 20 skewed the results too much - just guess headliners. So it became 15 with a bonus for most correc...

Sabaton Slayer Dimmu Borgir Napalm Death Parkway Drive Volbeat Powerwolf Evil Scarecrow Dee Snider Immortal A line up I don't want to see the majority of the bands but think we'll get most of them. And we have a winner - 80 points. As per previous years, a pint is on offer to the winner - since I'v...

Re: Next Announcement

Hopefully the organisers will see this and start thinking about ditching this download clone experiment, but I doubt it. I think it totally depends on day ticket sales. They've been pushing Parkway hard, I'm seeing more of sponsored posts and adverts specifically for them at Bloodstock than I am fo...

Re: Next Announcement

The closest we have got to having Maiden ha! Rise to Remain played the main stage in 2008, if you're going by the dubious Dicko = Maiden & Spawn of Dicko = Dicko logic. :P They went down like a sack of wet turds too. They had no business being on the main stage, especially considering that they...

Re: Next Announcement

Great announcement for me - even though I've seen them more times than any other band and seeing them in Liverpool tonight, they're at least a band on the Saturday that I'd pay to see. There been a mutual love in between Vicky and Ginger in previous years but nothings come of it, but its finally hap...

Re: The rather morbid celebrity RIP Thread.

Mac Rebennack - aka Dr John - part of the 'wrecking crew' group of musicians who played sessions on countless of singles in the 60s before inventing the 'Dr John' character from old voodoo tales and playing strange mix of psychedelia, voodoo and rnb, he ended up on albums by Rolling Stones, Zappa, T...

Re: Next Announcement

I put Tesseract in the same category as Sylosis (remember them?) a band who were on the rise nearly a decade ago, but didn't do anything significant. That would have been the time to book the likes of Tesseract. Its not just them that are the problem, there's also Raging Speedhorn, Sulphur, Cancer ...

Re: Next Announcement

But you could put it the other way. Which band has songs that people know? I would probably know all of Metal Churches songs but wouldn't know one of Tesseract's. Would Rainbow headline? They've not released an album since the year dot. When was the last album anyone bought by the Scorpions? I have...

Re: Next Announcement

Vicky's been posting about being with Machine Head in America, wonder if this new line-up still hates festivals? The post on the Rock Society FB Group came with a 'Don't read anything into this..' comment with the pictures. I think her husband did PR for them and has stayed friends. Wouldn't mind i...

Re: Next Announcement

I don't think Amplified is going to dent BOA soon, but it puts these comments into perspective - the line up is essentially BOAs Sophie Stage, the headliners would still either be in that tent or in bottom couple of bands on the main stage, and it still costs 115 quid. HRH has branched out, but some...
