The new Within Temptation is okay.

Soilwork is very good.

The new Flotsam and Jetsam is a fucking BEAST. Best thing they've done since, well... No Place for Disgrace.

Got the new Beast in Black but haven't heard it yet.

Looking forward to Rammstein, Nile, Overkill, and hopefully Anthrax, Dark Angel, Sacred Reich, and King Diamond among others.

What did you think to the last one (aka the self titled)? If the new one is better than that then

Not an exhaustive list, but:

From Sorrow to Serenity
Swallow the Sun
Rotting Christ
LOKUST (Jeremy Pringsheim + Alexy Khoury)
Deftones (still waiting for something to better the S/T album)
Devin Townsend
Kvelertak (if it lands this year)
Napalm Death
Nile
Opeth
Pestilence
Gojira
Rammstein (please, please be good)
Carcass
Sabaton
Wode (again, if it's released this year)

Also, Meathook's new album (Coffins, Crypts, Corpses) was released on the 1st of January and it's a fucking belter, get it listened to if you have even a passing interest in brutal death metal.

The new Downfall of Gaia song is really good. Features guest vocals by Nikita Kamprad from Der Weg Einer Freiheit apparently.

I liked the last one a lot.
This is better.

The new Battle Beast is brilliantly cheesetastic.

Just had the new Avantasia drop into my computer.

Have to agree with all the hype surrounding the new Soilwork. Never really been into them but this new album is cracking! Makes me want to revisit their other stuff to see what I've been missing. Will definitely be catching their set at Bloodstock on the back of this

Really like the new Soilwork album but it could have done with a trim of some of the not quite so good songs.

Nailed to Obscurity's Black Frost is really good.

After going off Avantasia for basically doing the same boring album 4 times I'm kind of looking forward to Moonglow after hearing Raven's Child.

The band Feral's new album is a good slice of Swedish death metal.

I’ve made it my New Years resolution to listen to at least one new album every week. So far I’ve listened to the new Callejon album which was actually a pretty fun listen, although I’ll probably end up forgetting it exists after a month or so. I’m going to listen to the new Soilwork album at work today.

Then on Friday, I’ll give “When The World Becomes Undone” by A Pale Horse Called Death a listen.
