Purson/ Astra - Manchester: Purson are another addition to the female fronted acid rock wave, but without the Hammer Horror schtick of The Devils Blood etc - the band look like extras from a late 60s Euro flick, right down to the singers beret. Their music is rather good, even if one song's intro threatened to turn into Long Train Runnin' by the Doobie Brothers!. Astra played a mix of tunes from their two albums and the musicians were exceptional, particularly the guitarist and drummer. Never been to the venue (Deaf Institute, Manc) before, and it was interesting place but a pint of Brew Dog ale was £5 - a new record!

Next - barring a work placement in Qatar, Audrey Horne/Sahg/Ancient VVisdom.

Tell a lie - the most expensive was the Speckled Hen bottles at the O2 venues, small bottles that work out at over 7 quid a pint!

Yeah, I thought it was nice, kind of quirky, but in a good way. My only minor complaint was that the stage was too bright, so when the reflection from the disco ball reached the stage the light got enveloped by the natural light of the stage. I think it'd have been a bit more atmospheric had they been illuminated by the disco ball. But I guess certainly the synthesizer players needed to see their instrument and see what parameters they were changing.

I would have looked for you, but honestly I don't have a clue what you look like. Conversely I don't know if you would have recognised me, so on the of chance you did, then I wasn't ignoring you :p

Yeah the mix of theatre and cabaret club was different than the usual 'box with a stage'. I was stood near the back, near to the bar.

Same, my mate was leaning on the bar as far back as you could lean on it, and I was next to him in a Graveland Hoodie.

 I like the description
Kind of rings a bell seeing someone blond next to me, but I didn't really pay much attention to who was around me.
