Im around town a fair bit and wear band shirts 90% of the time so thats quite suprising tbh
Never met subway dave :D

Parish isn't really Metal, but the music isn't necessarily crap for some part.
Camel is basically -core which Peace Sells or something creeped in.
Flying Circus has a Metal night of tuesday too, only went in for about 5 minutes though because it was dead, and my friend was happy at SikTh being played somewhere.

Went to Parish then Camel tonight. The most metal BOAish song i could get them to play was Rasputin by Turisas, Like you said....pretty much -core every song except the last few which are always cheese like Van Halen - Jump and a KISS song i could kind of hear from outside. Just got laughed at when i asked for Korpiklaani, Manowar then Helloween......"Those bands will clear the dance floor mate, we won't play them" was the response.

Thank god for Rock of Ages in Leeds......

That metal night at Flying Circus isn't too bad. If you like sitting in an empty pub :ugh:

The Friday Djs in there are shit too. Can't segue two tracks together for shit.

Parish is shit.
Camel is shit.
Huddersfield is shit.

You're best off going to Leeds if you want a night out with heavy metal. Or, if you're brave, go into Dewsbury and visit the Old Turk on a Friday or Saturday. As far as I know it's still a metal pub and it was a ruddy good one back in the day.

QFT

You don't have to be brave to go to Dewsbury, you just need a stab-proof vest and perhaps some mace. :eyes:

No, its not as bad as the Sun would like us to believe.

its a problem all over the country most rock and metal pubs tend to play it safe, it really annoys me when you here the same order of so called dance floor songs, and nothing rare, i enjoy a classic rock night, and glam but in terms of extreme nights they are non existant or empty and no atmosphere.

Au Contraire!
Two things;
1.The Terriers
2.Kirklees Council

I think if Huddersfield got rid of those two things I'd be less inclined to bitch about it.

Nah, Tarn is allright, not the worst place in the world. That award may go to Middlesbrough. :eyes:

Aye, nevermind all the kids hanging other kids, the terrorist bombers, the child murderers that render their victim's body nigh-unidentifiable, the kidnappers keeping it in the family and, of course, the intense racial segregation. Dewsbury's ace!

(It does have 3 really good pubs though!)

It's not that bad, but it's not that good either. It's a bit....bland I think. I can't really name anything really that outstanding in the town. And it's shit for satisfactory metal nights!
