Still struggling to find much metal that really excites me this year. Queensryche is the best of them although I'm warming to the Aephanemer album. The Manowar EP is the best thing they've done in a while and I love the new Sabaton track. But mostly it's just been stuff that's OK/forgettable/harmless. Apart from the new Sunn O))) which is just about the worst thing I've ever heard.

Tbf at least they're consistent in that everything they've ever done is utter shit.

It's mostly fairly solid but You Will Die Before I Die is pretty awful.

That comment can be read very diffferently than what was meant.

Talking of bangers...

I've been playing the shizzle out of the Lowest Creature album. Fans of Power Trip and thrashers alike seek here.

I like it but you're not kidding it's for fans of Power Trip, they sound the same just with less interesting riffs :eyes: Still enjoyable though so thanks for pointing it out to me

Agreed. It's not on the same level as Nightmare Logic but still scratches that same head-snappin' crossover itch.

The new Rammstein album is worthy of a few spins if anyone's a fan. The production is a lot lighter and not as biting as normal but it really works for these songs; leans on the keyboard more but still heavy as usual.

The new Savage Messiah is as good as I thought it would be, one of the best thrash albums from a young(ish) British thrash band for a long while.

The new Bloody Hammers song is a bit of a let down, but still looking forward to the album.

10/10, Album of the year and decade, give it all the Brit and Grammy awards; hell shut down metal, we've reached the pinnacle. :P

Tbf, had the album been released last year it would of easily been a shoe in for my top 10 as it was such slim pickings

The new Rotting Christ is amazing, finally been able to give it a proper listen and it's a lot better than I initially thought.

Listened to "Mana" by Idle Hands last night after hearing about them on the That's Not Metal podcast. Absolutely loved it! It's like Sisters of Mercy meets Iron Maiden meets Type O Negative, creating a unique traditional gothic metal sound. Can see myself binging on this a lot over the coming weeks! I also agree that the new Possessed record is sounding great! Wonder if they'll make a return to Bloodstock at some point...

I like the new Savage Messiah but it really does wander into generic Power Metal territory a little too often.

New Rammstein is sex on a stick, and the new Diamond Head is quality old school.
