Memoriam's new album is alright, seems to not be a lot of variation between their albums though; sounds exactly like their previous output. Not a bad thing if you're a fan to be fair.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard just dropped their third promo tune from their upcoming thrash album. It's not bad, and I'm broadly liking the sound they've gone for.

Bewitcher's Under The Witching Cross is pretty decent, particularly when Spotify is put through my car and it comes up a B*Witched's new album

I like it a lot. Between that, Darkthrone and Possessed for my favourite album release in May (that I've heard obvs)

Some more good albums which Ive been really enjoying recently..
Devil Master - Satan Spits on Children of Light
Crusty blackened speed-punk. A slightly weird one and a guitar tone that I wasnt sure about at first but something about it, keeps bringing me back.

Ripped to Shreds - Demon Scriptures EP
Really good death metal with that awesome down-tuned Gothenburg sound. Fans of old school Entombed should check this out.

Embrional - Evil Dead
Brutal tech-death with not too much emphasis on the tech. This one gets better with every listen.

It's been a great year for Cheese so far and now we have the new Majesty album.
Oh dear.
Some of the mid paced fist in the air numbers are good fun, but some of it is pretty poor. I'm not sure what direction they are trying to take but I preferred them when they wanted to be Manowar and not Beast in Black. The real nadir though is the ballad. It's fucking dreadful. And I say that as someone that loves Asteria from the Thunder Rider album.

So the Bloody Hammers album is pretty damn decent, it has some absolute drivel on it but the good mostly outweighs the bad. Hopefully leads to a UK tour at some point as well.

Might be wrong but don't think they play live anymore. Just a husband and wife band.

Love sacred Reichs awakening song. Looking forward to the new album and gig.

Fusion Bomb- Nothing outstanding but it's good for a few spins and will hold your attention well

Try 'Patron Saint', the new album by a band called Cwn Annwn. American power metal with female vocals. They're only a little band and it's a self released album but it's well produced and it has a few top songs on there.

Is the new Abbath album any good? I thought his debut one was a bit shit.

I gave them a listen on Spotify but I really didn't like the harsh vocals.

This weeks Cheese new release is the latest incarnation of Rhapsody. And much like last weeks Majesty record it's a bit of a disappointment, at least on the Cheese scale. If you classify Turilli/Leone's Rhapsody (or whatever they are called) as a progressive metal band then it's not a bad album, but as a Power Metal record it's quite dull. I had it on repeat yesterday and as soon as it finished I forgot what it sounded like. Rather like the last Twilight Force album it's okay in the background but not memorable in anyway. Proper Power Metal has hooks that you can hum immediately, and this doesn't have any I'm afraid.
As a progressive metal album 7/10
As a Power Metal album 4/10

I'll give that a go later, after I've listened to Abbath, and The Wildhearts.

Cwn Annwn's clean female vocals are better than the gruff bkokey ones.

If trad metal is your thing, give Kryptos' "Afterburner" a go. It's a no frills but fun ride.

The new Elder EP dropped this morning. Three instrumental pieces totalling 33 minutes, and it's really good.
