Yep, looking forward to this one. New songs sounded great live, especially awakening.

A week late with this one, but the new Devourment is amazing. Very very intense and feels like I’ve been battered and thrown about just listening to it!

Also checked out the new Illdisposed album today which was thoroughly enjoyable.

I couldn't agree more. I usually find slam too much of a one trick pony but this is sick!

New Equilibrium is atrocious. New direction for them, fair enough, bands are allowed to do that but when the result is this bad you realise the direction has been off a cliff.

Considering they've been going for so long, the new Entombed AD is an enjoyable listen.

Sacred Reich- Love it, even though it meanders in the middle I enjoy it; feels like variety rather than them losing their way.

Suicidal Angels- Brilliant, don't get why this band isn't bigger than they are. Will probably go under the radar for a lot of people but good for any thrash fan.

Tomb Mold- Brutal and brilliant

Entombed AD- Like Ghost said, surprising how they still got it.

Killswitch Engage- Eh, picks up where Incarnate left off which isn't a good thing.

Slipknot- Same as usual, 2-3 good songs and crap filler

Destruction- Great album, builds on what Under Attack had and with a good sound this time!

Thy Art is Murder- Gave it a listen after catching a bit of them at BOA. Surprisingly brilliant, deathcore finally clicks with me for once

Tool- Interesting, will take a while to fully digest though

I'm struggling with it. At the moment, it seems too much like hard work. :?

Aenima is one of my favourite albums of all time, Lateralus not far behind but dare I say it, have Tool released a boring album?

Pneuma is boring, Culling Voices is just bad, but Descending and 7empest are brilliant.

Continuing the plethora of Cheese Metal this year, August upped the ante with five big (ish) name releases.
Hammerfall's effort sounded exactly as you would expect with a couple of really good tracks.
Twilight Force's third effort was much better than the last one but sounded a bit too "Rhapsody" for me.
Former TF vocalist Christians new band Northtale on the other hand really sounded like early Twilight Force and was a lot better.
However for me the highlights of the month came from Freedom Call and Visions of Atlantis. Proper Cheese done properly! No surprises, the same old formula but with cracking songs that you can sing along to.

That's a lot of cheese to check out. I liked the first single Freedom Call spanked out but thought the actual song M.E.T.A.L was atrocious. Not a huge TF fan but for the sake of cheese I'll give it a whirl. Got the new Sonata and can't bring myself to listen to it.

So what do the Ghost fans on this board think of the two new songs?

I like them. Love that psych sound on Kiss the Go-Goat.
