I like them. Love that psych sound on Kiss the Go-Goat.

Haven't listened to them. I assumed they were just cover songs that they release every now and then.

Kiss the Go-Goat and Mary on the Cross have quickly become favourites for me, I'd love to hear more 60's goodness from Papa Nihil.

I like them but wouldn't want them to continue in that vain for a whole album.

eradikator- I think this is their attempt at a "black album" unfortunately half the songs come off as boring mid tempo meanderings. Fair play for trying something new, shame they haven't pulled it off very well

The HU- Great album, it's a breath of fresh air and a welcome change. Hits that sweet spot between familiarity and having a twist to perfection.

I've never even heard of them. Not really my cup of tea but 10/10 for originality.

Ah yeah, totally forgot about the new Darkthrone. Definitely worthy of an honourable mention.

I can see why they're a marmite band, can't see Mongolian throat singing being everyone's cuppa

1. Marecages - Marais Juana Une Ode Cannabique
2. Husbandry - A Port in a Storm
3. Mystik - Mystik
4. King Gizzard - Infest the Rats Nest
5. DEATHCHANT - DEATHCHANT

A lot of smaller bands for me this year, the bigger bands really didn't deliver this time around, plenty of albums that are okay but none that I felt I absolutely had to listen to every day.

That comment can be read very diffferently than what was meant.

I'm enjoying the Enforced album. Very Power Trippy which seems to be quite a common thing at the moment.

Not listened yet but I don't like their pantera style songs. Not keen on their The Law album. Love their thrash songs though. Not tempted by the gig now sonny?

It''s still thrash but got a fair share of Dimebag-ish riffs.
Nah, got a lot going on already, stretching already without an extra gig

As for upcoming albums I'm most excited for the new Teitanblood. Death is one of my favourite albums of the decade, so I'm hoping they live up to that, none of their material has let me down before.

New Sunn O))), Blood Incantation should be good too, and am excited for Edenbridge as one of my all time favourite bands, and is the Napalm Death one coming this year?

Devin Townsend's Empath has grown on me more, though listening to the album AND the bonus disc in one sitting is a bit much at about 2 and a half hours. Diocletian absolutely rips, closer to the Doom Cult sound than Gesundrian which suits me.

I wonder if the Nyogthaeblisz album will ever come out? The single was put on Youtube in April 2017 and I've been avoiding it since, (I don't like listening to singles before the full album)

From comments on here I guess I'll need to give the new Darkthrone and Womred a listen, and revisit the new Devourment.
