Bloodstock is at toward the end of the festival period and has mainly European bands, so long as Wacken and a few others take place, most bands will think its worth it to play.
I have just looked at Delvin Townsends site BLOODSTOCK has been removed from his upcoming tour dates, it was there last week....... Now I have no idea what to think.
the poster is still there, but the date and link to buy tickets has gone....
Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

If Boris is right, it looks like the British only version will happen. I doubt this lineup will happen though.
Welcome to a brave new world/ The future here or haven't you heard?

The latest government announcement finally gave me some hope that outdoor events in some shape or form might happen during the summer.

That's an absolute best case scenario though, I would be extremely surprised if it all goes to plan and everything's back to normal on 21st June. Pubs, cinemas, gyms etc open with some distancing as before, but there's a big jump from there to thousands of people drinking and camping in a field.
I think Damnation is the first we can hope for, but I hope I'm wrong of course.

True but they seem to think outdoor events have a lot less impact on Covid infections. They're talking about sporting audiences returning so I don't see why small local festivals with limited numbers at least can't happen late summer.
I'd be thrilled just to sit in a park with a beer, watching some local covers bands at the moment.

I'd love to be proven wrong, I'm missing gigs dearly, since I was 17/18 I've never gone more than a few weeks without one, but it seems awfully soon with the proposed dates that a limitless amount of people can pour into clubs and venues all over the country in 12 weeks time? I'd love to be wrong but surely that will just keep getting pushed back and back. Can't imagine anything better than being at a festival this summer but don't want to get my hopes up.

Graspop postponed.
Feels inevitable that the July festivals will start postponing soon.

As more festivals pospone, bands will pull out of others as its not worth touring if its only 3 or 4 dates across different countries, which will make other festivals unviable, the house of cards is starting to fall down.
Mercyful Fate had 7 festival dates lined up in europe, 1 has now gone I think they will have to play at least 4 to break even, its going to be close but I would not surprise me if they pulled out of Bloodstock on Financial Viability grounds. (I hope not though)
