Covid killed Anathema.

Postby metaldinosaur » Wed Sep 23, 2020 9:38 am

Anathema are going on 'long term hiatus'. They seem to be implying the current situation is the main reason. That sucks. Have any other bands had to call it a day due to the covid restrictions/coronavirus?
Welcome to a brave new world/ The future here or haven't you heard?

Anathema have broken up a few times and got back together, so it wuldnt surprise me if this indefinite hiatus only lasted a year, but we will see.

Always been a massive fan, back to when I first heard Sweet Suffering on the Friday Night Rock Show many many years ago.

I have to be honest in that the last album did absolutely nothing for me. It wasnt bad as such, but it was just incredibly uninspiring

I also wouldn't be surprised if they came back in a couple of years. I hope so anyway, they are one of my favourite bands.

As said before, they have been on hiatus before. I sincerely hope that they do come back in the future as I absolutely love their stuff and it would be a serious loss to music
if they didn't

ps another reason why I would like them back is that they are the only band I've managed to get my other half to go and see

That sucks, I saw them for the first time ever at Brutal Assault last year and fell in love with them (even more than I loved them before)

A rocker waiter pointed across the street and said, "that place got covidnated".

That's the new term and I'm sure it's already spread....Covidnated.

I guess Anathema got covidnated.
