This one has appeared in quite a few EOY lists and I've tried listening to it 2 or 3 times now.

"Impenetrable" is a word I'd use to describe it. I don't think I'm too far away in calling this avant-garde jazz-metal and who knew that was such a popular sub-genre these days?

I found it unlistenable, really disliked it. But I know a lot of people who love it - I'm not as drawn to this kind of stuff now as I once was in fairness.

Admittedly I gave up after 2 or 3 songs each time but I couldn't find a single thing I liked about it.

Its not a smooth listen by any stretch. But it held enough atmosphere and menace to keep me invested. There is a lot of hype around them, which I have to say seems a bit disproportionate.
Welcome to a brave new world/ The future here or haven't you heard?
