I always find it really weird that I can take a piss in a dream, complete with the sensation of urine flowing, without anything coming out in real life. Good job really.
All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

A few weeks back I had a dream where I spat at something. I woke up with a nice bit of globby phlegm on the other pillow

Finally seeing all the drunken interviews of people talking about bands shirts in my friend's lecture on subcultural theory today.

In a way I miss my degree for that stuff. Tell you what though, even though I pretty much focused on subcultural theory in the final year, the term just makes me think of snooty people coming up with off-base crap about subcultures.

Tell you what though, I've got a load of academicy type books on metal that I've been trying to flog for years if anyone wants them. Chances are you already have them, mind...

I do vaguely recall you getting really irritated because nobody could help you with writing about lolvikings and suchlike.

I dedicated part of my dissertation to that broad area but there's little in the way of literature on it so it was largely personal accounts and clippings from blogs/magazine articles.

I pretty much had to do the same thing. Hence why I tried to talk to the lolvikings. Only Borefather emailed me back on time. The guy from Primordial did about a year after I finished it!

I do wonder what Forefather do with their time...

Alan Averill's always been pretty happening though.

Yeah I know what you mean about the hoighty toighty assumptions about subcultures. It was touched on in the lecture how it makes a lot of critical material useless to an ethnographer who is only concerned with emic research data. I did a module in the same anthropology department last year and the reading material they give us on subcultures is all old and outdated shit of talking down to the people involved. This lecture was good though, a lot more up to date with current material. Speaking of Alan he's actually a lecturer in the anthropology department at Maynooth these days I think so hopefully all the old crap will get supplanted by stuff by people who actually know what they're talking about.
