Yeah, I looked at flights earlier today. £90 each way they want from Aberdeen, cheaper from Glasgow and Edinburgh, but when you add trains and buses onto that, there's little different.
Though I'm not sure I can actually afford to even get DOWN to Bloodstock now. :/

Just don't give up on getting a job or working at Bloodstock. Well, in general the point is to not give up.

Has anyone been to Rome?
Considering going in the school holidays for a long weekend with my sister and nephew and probably a few others who have said if we go they want to come with us. Found a guide book today for 99p but would be good to hear proper accounts on whether it is worth going if anyone has been.

I went to Rome many years ago and its lovely! Great history, excellent food and fuck loads of shoes! It does get very hot though - I went in May and it was scorching then. They do have stalls that sell cold drinks on the corner of pretty much every street though.

I've banged on about my Devin Townsend pound a day challenge a few times on the forum, but here we go. Have you got a quid? Put it in a jar. Do the same thing tomorrow. According to the timer at the top of this page there are 131 days left till Bloodstock. You can see where I'm going with this....

Or Ziltoids.
Tried to find the original thread but it appears to have been deleted,in fact almost every thread in Metal Discussion pre January this year has gone.
Essentially, when I bought my tickets for the Retinal Circus gig he's doing in London last November,I decided to save a pound a day towards travel/hotel/merch because it was almost a year away from the actual gig. My girlfriend opted to join me,and as I type there is over two hundred quid in a jar in my frontroom. With 211 days still to go
Easy money.

I know that,I've got over 600 quid in the bank, ready for gig tickets etc, this was an experiment with loose change. I don't notice a pound a day at all, never going to miss it,but making the effort to put it to one side every day over a reasonable period of time seemed worth a go. So come the gig,the missus and I will have about 300 quid each, just from remembering to put a quid to one side a day.
Savings different,I try and save twenty -fifty quid a week for all the hotels and trainfares I need for gigs each year.

I put €50 away in my bank account anyway but I guess I could try that..Would take a lot of discipline though I reckon, and I really like having money for beer

Re: A free-for-all thread
Driving back from the airport after picking up a colleague, one of the petrol stations was swarming with cars and so were the roads around it for some reason. Must have been about 100 young lads all in their thobes running round the place with sticks and stuff. I was hoping for a bit more drama than that though but sadly in the few minutes we stopped to watch, it didn't turn exciting.
