Watch it in 2d. Allows your eyes to relax more and take in the awesome.

Re: movies
13Hrs
aka Night Wolf
A bunch of thoroughly unlikeable toffs (including Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter films and the young lad from appalling BBC comedy My Family), plus Simon MacCorkindale and northern crumpet Gemma Atkinson get trapped in an old mansion by a hairless werewolf type creature.
Short on scares, story, and acting, not to mention the usual "no signal on my mobile phone" nonsense, plus an utterly pointless attempted police rescue, it does feature some pretty decent death scenes, but overall it's a bit of a let down.
Gemma Atkinson doesn't even get her tits out.
5/10
(3/10 if you took Atkinson out of it)

Avengers... Oh lord, it was so good I nearly cried all the way through from sheer joy.

Re: movies
I'm going to go and watch The Avengers by myself tomorrow. It's £7 for 3D so I figure I may as well see it in 3D.

Re: movies
So I watched a little film called The Avengers last night! As I expected it was absolutely spectacular! Whilst there are some really good films coming out this year I doubt any of them will top Avengers..

Avengers Assemble - Nothing short of brilliant. Cast interaction, script, effects, humour. Just fantastic & possibly the best use of 3D I have seen. 10/10.
And Cabin In The Woods is getting an upgrade to 10/10 after watching it again & after seeing Avengers.
Basically, Joss Whedon = win.

Given the less than mainstream reference in the stinger, I reckon you can tell how geeky someone is by their reaction to it. Non-geeks - huh? Geeks - OH MY FUCKING GOD!
Needless to say, I'm in the latter group.
Superb film, how superheroes films should be done.

Oh yeah man. I just gasped really loudly, but everyone else was dead silent. And I'm not even THAT much of a comic geek but even I got the ending
Cannot wait for the future Marvel releases.
Well, except for the next Incredible Hulk. I don't think I'm looking forward to whatever convoluted explanation they have for why Bruce Banner now looks like a completely different person
Also looking forward to the Fantastic 4 and Spiderman reboots!

Re: movies
Well I don't know if it has been mentioned on the boards yet, but for Iron Man 3 they are getting Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce at the very least (both as villains). it has some Chinese backing and apparently Andy Lau is tipped for a part, and is supposedly based on the Extremis storyline... which all sounds good, but given that the Mandarin was a racial stereotype villain and the Chinese market won't like that, I expect we won't be seeing the Mandarin in that.
