There's a documentary on the extended edition of RotK that pretty much pins Somme = Dead Marshes as the established theory so I think you're right.

Japanese tourist guide warning over Scots football and sausage

A new guide book for Japanese tourists visiting Scotland has warned them to avoid people wearing football shirts, and not to eat flat sausages.

The first official Japanese tour guide to Scotland also suggests visitors avoid council estates and never call kilts "skirts".

I can imagine a gaggle of lost Japanese tourists fleeing down the road in terror when a Celtic supporter stops and offers to give them directions.

I'm getting a mental image of a spoof Glaswegian tuition vision for the Japanese, probably hosted by Gregor Fisher.

...or a deliberately misguiding phrasebook along the line of Monty Python's English-Hungarian Phrasebokk...

Hah, that was a HUGE crowd that built up!

Love how the guy is so placid all the way through, even when the cops show up. "Yeah, I'm alright!".

It would be interesting to hear the back-story.

Although I would as well, I doubt it would make me think of him as any less of a dick.

The amount of moaning the two blokes who delivered my sofa and drawers did earlier. I deliberately chose a smaller lighter sofa and the furniture we all moved into my flat just over a week ago was a lot heavier yet these 2 blokes/wimps were moaning non stop. Ohhh there's stairs, oooo my shoulder hurts, oooo I need to rest for a few hours now, we shouldn't be doing this, ohhh there's a turn in the stairs, I damaged my ribs a couple of months back - so why are you doing a job that involves delivering and lifting heavy furniture into people's homes then? I showed your boss a photo of the stairs and he said it would be ok.

My neighbour stood there telling them that we've both had much bigger and heavier stuff carried up the stairs and it was her two daughters that carried her heavier sofa up. We couldn't work out what all the fuss was about they were going way over the top with moaning - don't think I've ever heard anyone moan so much, but it gave us a giggle first thing this morning.
I don't suffer from insanity, I'm quite happy with it
