Re: movies
Campbell also directed Goldeneye, Casino Royale and the 2 Zorro films, as for Green Lantern, I don't get the hate apart from childish fanboys, the film was brilliant on its own merits

I don't like any of those films either, if that helps.

I tell you who I do believe is going to have a good career is G H Evans, the guy who did The Raid, its just been bought for a US remake, and he's just started the sequel in Thailand, not bad for a Welsh guy

Re: movies
I think they should give the Star Wars 7 director job to Steven Kostanski, director of Manborg.
All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

My money's on the Pixar guy that did John Carter...
Re: movies
The idea of another batch of Star Wars films is making me sort of cringe.
Three was enough.

Re: movies
Saw Skyfall last night. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Best bond film ever as far as I'm concerned, a good story, great baddie, well paced action sequences. It was also nice to see it largely on home turf for a change. I even really liked Ben Whitshaw, who was channeling Desmond Llewellyn so much, but so well! A classic bond film but with the emotional core they've introduced since Craig came into the role.
As for Star Wars, Lucas has directed one decent film in his entire career (Ep IV), EPIII was ok, but nothing great. Disney getting their hands on it may be a good thing, but it may just end up being loads of direct to DVD sequels. As for who could direct another star wars film...I think Spielberg would have to be top choice!

Re: movies
If they just start churning out naff movies, they will eventually fizzle out, Ep I to III were 'special'. A long wait for the story of Darth Vader, which is something people were interested in...I really can not see where they can go after Ep VI.
Re: movies
If you've seen the Clone Wars series, they have tons of potential places, characters and situations to use. The original trilogy features pretty much hardly any of the species or planets that have been introduced. If it is a continuation of the original films, first thought would be itll cover the rebuilding of the republic government, the jedi order, the aftermath for the rebels and the continued presence of the empire.

Watching Ginger Snaps as the first of my Halloween double-bill. Second film yet to be decided..

Re: movies
A new Star Wars film will be massive, especially if they rope in any of the original cast ( I expect at least Mark Hamill will be involved ). Do you honestly think Disney would pay $4 billion for a direct to DVD franchise?!?!
If he wasn't too busy with Avengers 2 I'd give it to Joss Whedon. Just to bamboozle the mainstream though I'd love to see David Lynch have a pop at it...wasn't there a story of him initially being in the running for Empire?!
Oh...and Green Lantern was utter bilge. And I'm not a fanboi, never read a single issue of the comic book.
