I still have no idea the point of Joseph Park, I hope Christian York finds work now he's had a big th run, he was very good

Re: The Wrestling Thread
He's too old to have any chance of getting far in WWE considering it'll take him 2/3 years to get through developmental probably. He'll be nearly 40 when that happens. I know Finlay was 44 when he debuted in WWE, but still, it's rare they take a chance on veterans like that. TNA is great in that they'll let people on TV without barely any time in OVW now. In the case of Christian York it was obviously a good thing. He jumped right into the mid-card and looked like a potential BFG series candidate and eventual world champ pretty quickly. Obviously it's bad sometimes when they let people like Taryn Tarrell onto Impact who can wrestle a good spotfest, but can't even throw a forearm properly.
Crimson will almost definitely end up in NXT soon. Joey Ryan will probably be happier to just go back to PWG. The sleazy gimmick will never fly in PG WWE.
Taeler Hendrix and Madison Rayne always have promotions like WSU, Shimmer, Shine, AIW Girls Night Out etc. to fall back on.

Taz has resigned with TNA and Jay Briscoe has left ROH, I can only assume he's going to WWE, and if he does, I expect huge things from him

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Both he and Mark have not resigned their contracts and are taking the summer off apparently, which is good as Jay's shoulder injury is legit and he needs to rehab it. WWE have been interested in them as a team for a long time, wonder if that will hold after the Jay twitter scandal. Davey Richards had a trial recently or is about to have one and his contract is up in a month's time as well. Eddie Edwards' contract is up too but I reckon he'll resign unless he's changed his mind about wanting to go to WWE. The other 3 though will all be in NXT by the end of the year at least.
Whether Eddie goes or not though it will still mean The American Wolves will be broken up, taking the two most veteran tag teams out of ROH. I reckon what will happen then is Eddie and Roderick Strong will wrestle under the Dojo Bros. name they use in PWG and then become the veteran team to continue putting over up and comers like C&C and Adrenaline Rush. Plus a fresh partner for Eddie will give them an excuse for him to feud with ReDRagon again. As for ROH bringing in a fresh team i'd love to see Irish Airbourne/OI4K go there again.
As for the 16 man tournament this month for the vacant world title Michael Elgin is the first entrant and my pick to win it, or maybe Jay Lethal or Adam Cole, with Elgin continuing to be the #1 contender afterwards. 16 men is a lot of spots to fill though- even if you include the whole mid-card.
Elgin, Lethal, Cole, Eddie Edwards, Roderick Strong, Kevin Steen and BJ Whitmer are the only serious contenders. Include the top mid-card guys and Mike Mondo, Tomasso Ciampa, Silas Young and at a pinch QT Marshall only bring it to 11 guys. They could of course use the tag division to make up the shortfall, but that would mean having to sideline the whole division while the tournament is ongoing, so my guess is they'll bring in a few former stars.
Paul London has said he'll be back for more ROH dates soon so he's a dead cert, and possibly Brian Kendrick too. Adam Pearce, Colt Cabana, Doug Williams, Machinegun Karl Anderson, Kenny Omega, Delirious, Low Ki (who is retiring to become a voice actor apparently) and Takeshi Morishima are all possibilities that I can think of too.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I've always thought that move would work better just as a fall-forward crucifix bomb (like The Razor's Edge) or if he caught them round the hips on the way to bring it into a normal sitout powerbomb. But either way compared to guys like Vader, Mabel and even Big Show I'd say Hernandez overall is a pretty safe worker for a superheavyweight.
Also fucking hell- when I checked his stats there to see his weight it turns out he's 40!
Today's episode of ROH watched and the next 2 weeks worth that have been leaked too. It really is silly that the one way they try to keep kayfabe is by pretending that they don't film 3-4 weeks of TV in advance the night after the PPV- especially as they've already released the video of Nigel McGuinness stripping Jay Briscoe of the world title for injury reasons even though his title defense against Hardy and the post-match attack by SCUM hasn't "happened" yet. A few great matches in there though- especially Tomasso Ciampa vs QT Marshall, which really deserved to be a TV main event.
It's also hinted at that they're going to do an angle where Hardy keeps the belt and declares himself champ whilst the title stays vacant til September 20th/21st, which means that this War Games style match coming up on the 23rd of this month won't be the end SCUM angle just yet. I think they're about to release Rhino though- which is fair enough as he hasn't been over and has barely been on TV since challenging Steen for the title last year.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Well the Wyatt family videos have been awesome, last night's especially, the entrance to the ring with the lantern fantastic (just a shame it was electric), Bray sitting in the chair, awesome, then it came Huskey Harris, Huskey Harris

It was all great until all they did was beat up Kane. Yawn. Seen that shit a billion times before. I guess I was expecting something... More. I don't know.
Re: The Wrestling Thread
Anyone else think that the all the recent blurring of face/heel and having all face and all heel matches in WWE is making the shows difficult to get invested in?
Re: The Wrestling Thread
I'm finding any match with D Bryan in is ppv quality, his match with Sheamus was brilliant last night, the Orton matches were the best Orton has been in for quite some time too

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Watching hardcore justice, its OK so far. The tag team ladder match was brilliant. Joseph park vs Judas messias, why not just have abyss? Drop the Joseph park character, just for one night, its boring and predictable. I know its the same guy but he wrestles differently and he's usually good in hardcore matches, but as Joseph park it will be the same as every other Joseph park match

Agreed. I wouldn't be as condescending to the rest of the roster to say Bryan can carry any bag of shit he's asked to, but the man could put on a 5 star match with Psycho Sid if they asked him. Orton's no bag of shit, but he goes through the motions with every match like he doesn't care anymore. Same with Punk- he's as bad as Orton or Cena for the 5 moves of doom unless he's working with Bryan, Cena or Jericho.
With Sheamus though it's also that Bryan brings out the fact hat Sheamus is really underrated as a technician- he had to be in the promotions he came up in. Hopefully the D Bry vs Cena matches this summer will be as good as Punk vs Cena oer the pas few years.
Also, I never watch the stuff on the WWE youtube channel but I checked out this week's episode of Backstage Fallout after I heard Ambrose blatantly referred to his Jon Moxley days. I'm fully expecting to hear some CZW chants this Sunday.

How underrated is Vickie Guerrero though, and I hear she is coming back as Ryback's manager
