No ,the Dr mentioned to me about a pill that stops them, I was just trying to see if there was another option that wasn't a pill.

I have the coil, and for me and everyone else I know with it, it makes them significantly heavier and more painful. Great as an alternative to all those hormones though.

I never had any problems with the implant and it stopped my periods (until about 6 months before the 2nd one was due out).

I'm not really against taking pills, I was more just curious if there did exist a thing you just have put in and forget about. But yeah, I don't want that if it involves heavier periods D:

OMG, the coil. The worst four months of my life. I would have taken it out myself if I could. Heavy, painful as my body tried its hardest to get rid and worrying as one of my friends' twins was born holding hers....
I know you can get them impregnated with progesterone which is supposed to help but seriously, no.

Huh? How does that work? Did she not know she was pregnant or was it not properly removed or something?

It's called 'not very effective as a contraceptive'. It's amazing how many women get pregnant unintentionally.

I mean, did she not find out and get it taken out?

I think your best option is the implant then. What are your reservations on it?

Agreed - I'd totally get the implant if I didn't anticipate it turning me into a nutcase.

My girlfriend has just had hers out because it was turning her into a nutcase. Hopefully in a few weeks she'll be back to normal because the last few weeks have been a nightmare.

It never turned me into a nutcase - but maybe I can hold it responsible for me having married one

My sister never had any problems on it either and my weight stayed the same. The only thing that changed was lack of periods :)

No, she fell pregnant with the coil in place. You couldn't take it out without removing the babies too....
Fortunately there was no damage to her during the birth- she had already had two kids.
