I'm fairly sure that's a speech impediment or something, no-one speaks like that

Totally this. What a lovely accent.
Nahh scummy scot is best. Like really strong Glaswegian. Phwoar.
Yeah, agreed. The more grating and un-intelligible the better

Apart from, y'know, all of it. I generally quite like the various regional accents. But Lancashire's the only one that really grates and I find actively unpleasant.

I find Australian accents SO irritating. I hate how their voice goes up at the end of every sentence.

Unlike their ancestors who went down at the beginning of their sentences.

When there are accents like cockney and scouse around I really can't agree with that sentiment. But then again I am sightly bias

Nope. I'd rather listen to a Scouse audiobook of Les Miserables than one sentence from someone from Burnley

Re: The Relationships Thread
The thing is, most people tend to associate my dislike of Burnley purely to footballing reasons but the fact of the matter is it's probably the most horrible dive in Lancashire (if not beyond).

Burnley/Lancaster etc. accents are great for taking the piss out of people, that's why I have so many mates from there.

Or even "biased". I'd love to blame that on your Lancastrian origins. But it's just as prevalent down here

It really is quite something.
Round here it's really only sporting related to dislike other places save for a few.
I know someone from Burnley though and they do indeed absolutely despise Blackburn.
Is there a genuine reason behind it?

Don't forget Darwen now, apparently they don't like being forgotten about.
