Trivial Grumblings
Re: Trivial Grumblings
Still have not been paid by my previous employer. I understand we've had a few bank holidays at this time of year but we're meant to be paid on the first of the month, its now the 9th. I really don't know what to do if they don't pay this.
Re: Trivial Grumblings
In work tonight covering for an ill co-worker, nothing against her or anything, I just can't be fucked. Ah well, I suppose I am quite needing the money...
Re: Trivial Grumblings
not a grumbling, but a friend of mine is going in for brain surgery today to remove a tumour

That's pretty scary. I hope it goes alright.

My fucking neck is shooting pain into the back of my eyes again. Nothing helps as far as painkillers go. I'm really sick of it.

Re: Trivial Grumblings
Going to start paying rent and food costs from Friday, but given how much the parents are charging me I may try to move out because it wouldn't be so much more expensive.
Re: Trivial Grumblings
I think if you are spending ~600£ a month in keep at your parents gaff, yep. Less if you are social enough to live in shared accommodation, the very thought makes me shudder. Half if you have a friend to share with. Doesn't include food bill or utilities, but that was just the prices in Solihull. Might be more/less expensive where you are.
Edit: Could live in my area mind. I get lecky, water, 100mb internet (and it is, not this 'up to' nonsense), rent sets me back ~300€ a month. Only up front costs are getting brain damage from this barbaric language. I don't like renting though, much prefer to own my own house. Very much counter the culture over here.

How big is your flat?

Re: Trivial Grumblings
In qm I couldn't tell you but we've got a reasonable sized living room, bedroom and dining room, a kitchen and a toilet. Oh and a balcony, don't forget the balcony. Definitely sufficient for the two of us to live here. The other things that make this flat excellent are the stuff like the nearest tram is a 30 second walk away which will take you to Weinheim railway station in 2 minutes or Heidelberg or Mannheim (depending on which direction you are going in) in 30 minutes a piece, train station is 10 minutes away, town centre is 10 minutes away, train station is on the mainline from Frankfurt to Heidelberg. Buses are reasonably common though I don't get on them. Nearest Lidl is a 30 second walk away and 2 supermarkets in the space of a 3 minute walk from here. I have never lived in a place where the public transport is so spot on and I probably never will.
