My Mum does this. I'll be sitting in the kitchen which is at the opposite end of the house and I can clearly hear her reactions to the TV. Lot's of OH MY GOOOOD, screaming and obnoxiously loud laughter which sounds incredibly faked. She's sitting there alone, why does she need to fucking shout at the TV?

Exactly! JUST BE EMOTIONLESS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

my colleague progress review is due again at work. i swear it has not been 6 months. anyway, i am not progressing much right now and i actually dont want to, because to go any further than i am means leaving livingston (if this was leaving for good i'd be all over it, but it would just be working somewhere else sadly) and blackhall in edinburgh or linlithgow have been mentioned, i do not want to work in either of those stores. linlithgow is a glorified convenience store not even half the size of livingston, and blackhall is a little bit smaller than livingston but at least twice as busy due to being in the city. however, putting on my review "i am happy with my current position" will do more long term harm than it is worth.

Boyfriend is pretty difficult at the moment.
We both work at the same place and his task at the moment is PAT testing, which means he gets paid slightly more, but I get more hours and have the opportunity to go out on shows too.
I got offered a show yesterday and added to the cunty warehouse manager he got into the shittest mood that has lasted for two days now. It's made me feel bad for being offered the show, as he said (and he's probably right) that if he wasn't PAT testing he'd have been offered it instead.
Last night I went to another job and came home to find him drunk and still in a shit mood, today he got up and left without saying goodbye.
Feeling pretty fucking pissed off, I get jealous when he gets good jobs but I'm always super supportive and happy for him. I shouldn't have to feel bad about it. :(

That's pretty shitty although it might not necessarily be about work, there could be something else going on that you don't know about.

So fucking pissed off with this placement. No one gives me a straight answer when I ask what I'm supposed to be doing and then I get arsey phonecalls saying I was supposed to be doing something else like I'm doing this on purpose when I'm constantly stressing out about it and would gladly just turn up and be told what to do. Arghhhhhh.

The part where he said he'd have been offered instead of you it is pretty shitty for several reasons. Working with a partner isn't great, but that kind of stuff makes it so much worse. He should be happy for you.

So he's unavailable but moans that someone he's in a relationship with gets the job instead? Seems a right one.

I think it really depends on how he said it. Obviously it's not gonna be brilliant to hear however he says it, but the way in which he phrased it and the context of when he mentioned it is quite important, and us all judging the guy based on a single comment is a bit ridiculous.

I agree.

But it just seemed to be a bit off moaning that he's not doing the job when his girlfriend is doing it. It's not like the money earned is going to a stranger.

Oh of course, however he said it still isn't really a great thing to say, but it could've easily been in a jokey way, or muttered to himself, etcetc. For all we know Hannah was jumping around all day going "haha fuck you I got the job and you didn't, nerner you suck" (although ofc that particular scenario is pretty unlikely) :P

Gotta say though, must be difficult being in direct competition with the person you're with :/

Had another one of those random friend requests. Ill delete this request and probably 2 months down the line realise who it is. At the moment I've not a clue who this guy is, and with two mutual friends, I am guessing he doesn't know me either.

See now everyone's vented their real world problems, my mild Sam-style irritation at one of my Facebook friend's use of three exclamation marks when one may do, looks exceptionally trivial.

That said, I just found out this was a thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interrobang

Though 'Interrobang' sounds like interrogation through rape.

WHAT?!?!?!

I use things like that all the time.

I remember seeing one of those symbols on a typewriter. A proper old fashioned manual one, so it must of been built well before the 1980s.
