Daredevil was superb, Marvel are consistently great with their TV shows now as well!

I like how lo-fi it felt compared to the bigger budget CGI stuff like The Avengers or whatever. Most of it was drama OR really good hand to hand combat. It was a nice change of pace I think!
Re: TV: Current and Recent
I watched the first episode of Olympus last last night.
Well I started out watching it and was then struggling through it.
Poorly acted, dubious digital effects and choppy pacing/storytelling.
Not impressed.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
I couldn't even get past the trailer for Olympus without laughing.
Bates Motel is becoming as schizophrenic as Norman. One side of the show moves along so slowly that it's becoming a real chore, but they're treating Norman's change like an out of control runaway train. Still a decent show, they just need to get the balance right this series.
The penultimate episode of The Americans was excellent. Sets up the finale brilliantly.
After three weeks of being great again, Community was shit this week.
Agents of SHIELD is picking up nicely again. It's been a bit wobbly of late, but it seems to have sorted itself out again very well.
After a brilliant opening, this week's Salem went back to doing more of the same. Entertaining and creepy without ever taxing the brain too much. Lucy Lawless in stockings certainly didn't hamper my enjoyment.

Watched the first two episodes of Daredevil
Not bad, but it's a bit slow for a superhero type show.

I think one of the main reasons I liked it was cause it wasn't a typical superhero show. More a superhero show made into a properly good TV series that somebody with no comic knowledge could enjoy.

Even though it's not gripping me, it's holding my attention at least. Only two episodes in though so I'll take that for now.
Re: TV: Current and Recent
I was listening to some podcast and they talked about how shows for Netflix are structured a bit differently because they're intended for binging. Like they can move a bit slower, or interweave plots a bit more, because they expect people to be burning through the thing in a day or two.
Which admittedly wasn't far off of what I did at all.
I'd definitely recommend staying with it though.

Oh, unless it becomes incredibly shit in a very short space of time, I'll stick with it until the end.
I'm at the mercy of the wife as to when I can watch it though. She thinks it's got potential too but she's out most nights at the moment while she canvasses for the upcoming local election.
Stupid politics.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
Watched all of Penny Dreadful over the last couple of nights. Too many ideas going on at once (no co-incidence that the best episode of the series was the one which told the main two characters back story) but still highly enjoyable.
The third episode of Daredevil was slow as fuck. Decent start and a great last few minutes but I spent the rest of it looking at my watch.

3rd episode of Daredevil was great! It had that awesome fight scene reminiscent to Oldboy!
Also I've been looking at the Iron Fist series coming to Netflix. I dunno who's directing it yet but since it's primarily a martial arts superhero, how awesome would it be if it was directed by the guys from The Raid? Same kind of actors too?
Instant views. Instant money.

Finally getting round to watching Oz and by fuck is it awesome already after just a few episodes. Not as good as The Wire mind but it's already overtaken Sopranos as my 2nd favourite HBO show. Hard to believe it's nearly 20 years old now.

The Following has followed Bones to the fuck off forever pile.
I'll see this season out and then I'm done.
