The first one is a fucking amazing film. The second one isn't so great.
Not watched the third one...and that seems to be the case for most people I know that own the trilogy boxed set. I'll have to finally dig it out sometime.
I like all 3, but then I'm bias as I grew up on them. The problem with the 2nd and 3rd films are they butchered scripts by Frank Miller, hence why he got pissed off with movies for a while. Even the 4 tv movies were ok.
Re: movies
Disney must be smoking something special this week. They decided to rename their upcoming superhero mega bonanza. The name change, originally titled Marvels The Avengers, is now going to be called Marvels Avengers Assemble. This name change only effects the uk. Disney said the name change is so we don't confuse the mash up film, featuring 4 characters from seperate films, with the 60s tv show The Avengers. Which most people wont have heard of these days.
Re: movies
source? because my cinema just has posters for The Avengers.
Re: movies
Quick google later.
Happened about 8 hours apparently.
This is pretty fucking stupid.

Re: movies
there's not a lot they can change what with most of the promotional material already out there and the film release in two months, so i'm not bothered even if it is true
Re: movies
Seems a bit of a daft move. With the amount of hype built up around it, I doubt anyone would think of the '60's show, or the godawful Uma Thurman/Ralph Fiennes movie.
If they were going to make any change, why not just officially name it "Marvel's The Avengers"?
On another note, yesterday I picked up Piranha 3D on 2xdisc Blu-Ray, Sweeney Todd and The Losers for a total price of about £9. Sorted.

Re: movies
Yeah it seems even though they show some action in the trailers they've managed to hide the villain's well besides showing Loki. I reckon they won't tell us at all and will just make us guess until it comes out
Re: movies
I've become increasingly bored with big budget action blockbusters in recent years but 2012 has a fair few I'm excited about. I hope they don't let me down. The Avengers ( Assemble! ) looks fantastic and I'm stoked for The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus, The Hobbit and The Amazing Spiderman after seeing the trailers. May well go and see John Carter after all the good reviews too.
Although, as with last year, the films that end up really impressing me come year end will probably be low budget indie films I currently haven't heard of!

Akira is a strange strange film. I am not quite sure what to make of it yet..

Re: movies
Just watched Mary and Max...a darkly comic claymation film about a lonely 8 year old Australian girl who befriends (via penpal) a lonely middle aged American who has Auspergers. The film plots their life over a 20 year period and is at turns funny, depressing and uplifting...not for everyone I guess but I'd recommend it. The claymation is brilliant.
