Just sent you a friend request. I'm on it as BaronVonButcher (the baddie from chimp-based detective series "Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp" in case you were wondering)

Just accepted now.
Obviously I've not had anything to add to it since joining so it's looking pretty bare at the moment, but it seems a good idea.

I can't begin to tell you all how annoyed I am that Timothy Taylor's Landlord wasn't on the offer in Morrison's.

Doom Bar was which is good. I now have 8 ales over Christmas. Quite why my mum insisted when no-one drinks at home is beyond me. I'd like one now but I'll be branded an alcoholic for even contemplating it.

Had a Delirium Christmas last night. Really quaffable in spite of being 10%. I wish I'd got my dad one of these rather than another Belgian christmas beer now.

Drinking Insanely Bad Elf last night. Holy cow, I can see why that stuff will only be served in half's. Dark Star Rock Star is rather nice too.

On second attempt Whitewater's Sanity Claus was better. My friends clearly know me too well as one got me that as a present and the other got me a bottle of Red Pig Mexican Ale (decent but not very memorable) and some lethal looking 13% stuff called Beelzebuth. Saving that one for a night I don't mind getting messy. Already got my ma's house loaded up with some reliable Belfast Black and Clotworthy Dobbin that along with whatever she puts in my stocking should see me through the christmas period.

I need to get a Red Pig at some point. I need it to finish my "Cerveza Matador" badge on untappd (5 different Mexican Beers).

What's the difference between Old Speckled Hen and Old Golden Hen?

Wat. I bought it thinking it would be a stronger version.

I want to try Old Freckled Ken. He sounds like a treat.

You'd need Old Crafty Hen then.
If it sounds good, listen to it

That stuff is delicious but lethal. It doesn't taste much different from normal Old Spec, certainly doesn't taste any stronger.

For some reason Sainsbury's put it on the 4 for a fiver deal with the other ales last I looked, so I got me 12 of them for next to nowt :)

That said, it's the only "special reserve" version of the big name ales that's worth it. King Goblin is manky and Abbott reserve is just a bit meh.

I had some Even More Jesus stout by Danish craft brewers Evil Twin yesterday. I've never seen a beer bear such a close resemblance to oil, really nice stuff though, great coffee/chocolate flavours. Dangerously drinkable for it's 12%.

I discovered the joys of Milk Stout the other night. I usually like to mix things up and try as many different beers as I can, but I had 3 of them (Allgates that time) such was my liking. I didn't even know Milk Stout was a thing until then, but it's left a good enough impression to make me want to try more. I think it's my love of all things sweet really.

The word Hoppy put's me off. As a rule of thumb, if it's a blonde or it's hoppy I don't bother.
