The Relationships Thread

Birmingham's Frankfurt Market is immense. I haven't had the opportunity to go in the last couple of years. The sweets are lovely and one of the stalls has X-rated garden gnomes according to the local papers. They got all Daily Heil about it.

The one in Gloucester was amazing when I was at Uni! Their frankfurter hotdogs were amazing hangover food, and the random sweets and trinkets and stuff was all amazing. Wish we had one down here

The German market in Pompey is nothing special. The only bit I really enjoy is the stall that does grilled bratwurst.
And now I know what I want for my tea.

the one in Belfast is still cracker for food but the beer tent is not what it was previous years (see my post in WPYOT? thread a few days ago)

both claim they don't want relationships, and neither do I

However it's relatively apparent that whilst agreeing against a relationship, they aren't keen on the idea of me being with the other one

One more thing, I have solid but private reasons as to why I'd rather not enter a full relationship with either of them

No matter how unattached someone is with any sort of relationship, there's always going to be some element of jealousy involved (moreso with women), even if it's just a 'what if she's better than me? thing', it's always there.

I suspect it's a jealousy issue - I don't mean mad raving green eyed horror, there's varying degrees of jealousy, and I tend to think women are especially prone to it. They're probably both quite capable of not wanting an actual relationship, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're comfortable with the fact you're doing the same thing with someone else - it opens the door for all sorts of insecurities to creep in - "but what if the other person is more attractive/better than me?" for example.

However, in terms of solving the situation, I'm a bit dry on ideas.

They both want an exclusive relationship, it's quite clear. They are being possessive over you, but they can't handle the sexual relationship without the emotional implication. You're doing nothing wrong, it's their problem, and one or the other might stop the friends-with-benefits relationship at some point if the jealousy gets too much for them.

DON'T let them blackmail you - you say that you don't want a relationship, so make sure that they know that.
