The new ToS ask the user to waive his rights to sue in a class action. ie. A group of people band together and sue as one entity.
You can still take individual legal action and indeed can opt out of the class action waiver by writing (envelope and stamps required, remember those?) to Sony's American HQ.
No big deal, really.

Re: Computer Games Thread
it is a big deal, because one person stands literally no chance in hell of successfully suing sony.
Re: Computer Games Thread
Unless they have millions upon millions of pounds. But yeah, it is a big deal. Sony instead of providing better service, are just taking away your rights as a consumer to expect a top quality product.
I'd never have bought another Sony product anyways, but I especially won't now.
Also this reminded me, an old Maddox article from back in 06, just to show that they've not been considered nice for a long while now!

Maddox really?
And the Xbox is made by Microsoft...
None of these enormous companies are nice. They're in it for themselves primarily.
The 'No group law suits' will get thrown out of court should it ever come up. Everyone knows no one actually reads that shit. And it's not something you can put in. It'd be like putting in 'If you accept this we get to take our money back from your account'.
Also, even in the case of a group lawsuit, Sony would still probably win. sadfrog.jpg

Bwahahaha, Sony sure does care about its customers as per usual!
It's nice to see that they haven't changed.

and yet because we pay for live if anything like this ever happens microsoft wont make us waive our right to sue them as a group (the only way of having any chance of successfully suing), they'll fix the problem and give us a shit arcade game free.
