Halloween is the only time we get fireworks. Maybe some bits of South Belfast on Chinese New Year but I never lived that close to Chinatown to hear or see them when I lived there.

I know Diwali but knowing when it is catchs me out every year. Couldn't tell you without wikipedia assistance if it lands on the same date every year. Easter catchs me out too. I used to have my job tell me when I am not allowed time off but now I get told the week before that I have to have it off.

The reason Easter always changes is because it's the Sunday after the full moon between the 22nd and 25th of April. You have the Council Of Nicea to thank for that. If they're going to make up a date for Jesus' death they could've just had it coincide with the spring equinox.

We got loads of Diwali chocolates from a patient's family, aw yeah. There's a Sikh temple down the road from me and it's like something out of Vegas. Seems like a pretty cool religion.

WMMLT: Got my arse slapped by one of the patients today. I thought I'd escaped this shit on a women's ward. But the consultant got a shoe thrown at him in review so I can't complain I guess.

I think Sikh's are the best out of the lot, but next door are Sikh and the woman needs liberating badstyle.

Someone was telling me that at a Sikh wedding they get absolutely slaughtered. Like they'll be allocated one bottle of spirits each. Not sure if this is legit but when I worked in a shop and some chap walked in, said his daughter was getting married and proceeded to buy £600 of spirits. Wait a minute the penny has dropped. That was probably personal use. Obviously didn't like his son in law.

Yeah, I've got a Sikh friend and he gets really battered.
They've also got awesome beards and hair and have cool swords and shit, and I think the main point of their faith is just being really nice to everyone and keeping the peace

Uhhhh.... you know Diwali's a Hindu festival, not a Sikh one, right? I live in a very solidly Indian area (as a white Briton, I'm in a minority as of the last census), so Diwali's a big thing here.
