I'm from Glasgow, so maybe not :P

Glasgow has traditionally been overwhelmingly Conservative. It's only in relatively recent times (from around the '80s onwards, IIRC) that the Tories have struggled in Scotland.

Neither. In the late '80s and early '90s, I came up with a desktop setup that works for me. I can manage windows and launch applications in a way that suits me. When these new fangled "desktop environments" came along, I tried them and found them awkward, inefficient and worse than what I'd come up with, so I stuck with what I'd got instead[1].

And vi is obviously, the One True Way™.

[1] If you're interested, I started out with twm, because that's pretty much all there was. I didn't like it much, but it was functional. Then I discovered mwm and I loved it. Then fvwm came along and although I initially didn't like the use of a config file compared to mwm's resource based config, there wasn't a free version of motif at the time, so it was the best that was available. By the time lesstif reach usability, fvwm had long surpassed mwm in pretty much every respect anyway, so I stuck with that.

It's not so bad in the smaller subreddits, but the bigger ones all live up to every reddit stereotype there is.

That comment can be read very diffferently than what was meant.
