Anyway, I heard Fairytale of New York in a shop this weekend. It is now most definitely nearly Christmas

I fucking hate that song The Pogues are such a good band, and that's the only song of theirs anybody knows.

Whilst it is a tad annoying people seem to know them as a 'christmas band' despite Fairytale not being a Christmas song, as much as a song that mentions Christmas, you can't deny, it's a fantastic song.

Maybe I've just heard it too many times. I think it's the worst song they ever wrote by a distance

I've always thought that song slotted better into Kirsty MacColl's back catalogue than it ever did the Pogues.

I've had what I thought was a scab from what looks like a pin prick on the palm of my hand for a couple of weeks now. I've just had another look to discover that it's not a scab at all. It's a piece of dirt that had somehow embedded itself and the skin's grown over it.

It's now out.
