Sun-in is terrible stuff. I've killed my hair on more than one occasion but once you get the hang of bleach it's not too bad. You just don't use too strong a volume and don't leave it on too long. When you need to do your roots you just don't overlap and hooray, mostly healthy hair!

you're not supposed to foil off bleach because peroxide reacts badly with metals and it can melt your hair.
