The ales ive tried in Notts are pretty damn good too, apart from one fruity one I had up there 2 weeks ago, which I cant remember what it was called, but it was pretty fucking rancid.
Not sure if BG Sips (or whatever its called) is local to you, but I thought it was quite an interesting concept. Not unpleasant.

PG Sips. Isn't that a Blue Monkey beer? I've not tried that one though
If it sounds good, listen to it

Re: The Ale Thread.
The bar at my uni has a lot of Blue Monkey stuff in, regularly. It's yummy. Good inter-lecture drinking to be had.

I guess so, I was more memorised by the fact it tastes like cold tea.

The only time I've seen Blue Monkey is at a place on Derby road called the Hand in Heart. Came second in a recent Camra pub competition

Liptons is ace, but has no alcoholic content. When you are out socialising with friends, having a pint of Lipton Iced Tea is just fuelling a ribbing.

Re: The Ale Thread.
Recently started volunteering in a bar in Nottingham and they serve rather a fantastic selection of beer. Including a guest ale (currently newark castle brown, legion the week before), stout, 2 types of lager and a wheat beer on tap and 2 types of ale, lager, oatmeal stout and teddy porter in bottles. All organic and vegan and the stuff on tap ranging from £1.80 to £2.60.
If you're in Nottingham and like real beer, I'd highly suggest the sumac centre! It is members only but it's only £2/3 for a year and well worth the awsome, cheap booze and the lovely patrons

Nightmare world
Reflected as a dream
Vision blurred
This surely cannot be
Twisted now
Far from reality
Delving into depths
