We had a couple of spare rooms in our student house so I stuck a notice on the board in the law building and by tea time had a call and both room were filled so you could try putting a notice up saying 'room required'.

Word of warning though, you may get weridos - one of the people who moved in stunk the whole house out with his BO and was massively overweight and would walk about in his boxers without checking the buttons were done up on them and the other had extremely loud sex all the time but claimed the banging was her jumping over stuff on her floor.

The first one sounds rather unpleasant, the second sounds like a choice house mate. Was she hot?

Kinda plain and average looking. We'd all shout up the stairs 'we can hear you'.

The current plan is to find a one bed apartment near the college somewhere, but that'll probably not happen as it'll be much more expensive in the long run. It'd be good for study though, and the second year of my course is apparently really really tough.

The back-up plan, is to move in with a couple of friends from the course who are planning to also move up to Dundalk. It could be a horrible idea since seeing your coursemates ALL the time would be a buzzkill, but one of the lads is never at home anyway. Because of sports/training/gym, etc. The other is in a different group to me, so I'd barely see her as it is.

As I said, it's kinda shit but there are always new opportunities. :)
If I like it, It's probably awful.

Clutch, Kamelot and The Ocean for BOA 2014 pls!

Living with people off your course isn't bad, so long as they're alright people. I found it quite good as we could bounce ideas off of eachother, though I did a creative course so I don't know how much of that you'd have!

I know a couple of people who have said the one bedroom apartment thing and (not wanting to be the party-pooper) it's never worked out. That said there is a private halls building in Bangor that almost exclusively offers en-suite one-bedrooms however all the people I know who live there are really odd and appear to be socially rejected, that totally isn't you. A house/flat entirely with coursemates - in my experience - appears to work quite well, you have people to remind you of classes and deadlines, people to reassure you that you're on track with work and a social group who all want to chill out and have a break at the same time you do. I don't reckon it's a buzzkill besides someone who is really gay and boring (not me) would say that if you're in full time education you should be working towards it full time. No one needs that though.

Living on your own almost definitely will be bad for your mental health unless you have a harem of bitches to summon at will. Which to be honest, most people don't.

Don't get me wrong, as someone who's not exactly a morning person but loves to thrash out in the evenings I'd love the idea of my own pad but I would have to be able to afford the space and entertainment. If not it very much depends on your social situation and what distractions you have. The important thing is not to get depressed/suicidal/schizo or just generally letting your mind get the better of you.
